I vape a lot of different juices, there's something like 150+ bottles of assorted stuff I've tried in the last year, banging around in a fridge I use to store nic or just sitting in drawers. I have 4 or 5 brands that I use in continual rotation, and maybe another 20 that I use on a regular basis (let's say at least twice a month).

Swer3397 Super Member ECF Veteran

Never come across this at all. What device/setup are you using? I am assuming you have tried the basics such as a good shake and steeping? If I remember correctly Annette does a line with no alcohol in it at all. Maybe sample one of them and see if this taste remains.

I had this same problem with kona too. Then one day while I was work, boom, no alcohol flavor. None from the 30ml bottle either. I think I just didn't let it steep enough.

schismz Super Member ECF Veteran

Hmmmm, okay, letting 'em all steep for a while and seeing what happens. Steep for me btw means, I just let it sit on a shelf and get back to it in a few weeks, did you also open the bottle and allow air into the mix, or was it not necessary? Tnx 6spdsurfer!

6spdsurfer Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

That's pretty much what I did. I wanted to like it a lot, but it was just giving me such a harsh flavor. Like I was vaping straight vodka. But after a tank or two (while switching between other flavors, so about a month or so) it was much better. It hit literally right in the middle of a tank and now I go back and it's as smooth as it could be.

Also, the alcohol taste shouldn't be due to the PG/VG ratio, but rather if the mixer uses alcohol in the mix. I know some of the makers use it to dilute or add throat hit, so it might be that. As the juice steeps the flavor takes over and you end up losing the alcohol flavors. As much as it sucks, just give it some time...

schismz Super Member ECF Veteran

Thanks, letting 'em steep. And yeah, I know alcohol isn't necessarily related to PG/VG, it just seems to be present in pure VG mixes way more often to dilute it enough to make it through a carto a few times and not be so viscous.
