I've mostly used tanks but now I want to start building coils on my mutation rda and doge rda. I'm looking to want to build between a 0.2 and 0.3 ohm coil. How many wraps and what drillbit size should I use? Thanks!

this is my name Senior Member ECF Veteran

Well... There are coil calculators out there but I think you will be hard pressed to get a functional coil build at those ohm loads with 26g wire. You could try coils with smaller inner diameter, maybe around 2mm id. 5 wrap dual coil might be around .25

I'm a little curious.... If you're coming from tanks and moving into drippers, why do you have your heart set on .2-.3?

WharfRat1976 Vaping Master Verified Member ECF Veteran

26g Kanthal is my go to wire. My sweet spot is 5-8 wraps on a 2.5mmID. It gets a little squishy when you do your crimpin but man she sure is a fine vape with good positioning and wicking.

Twisted 26 and a good ohm meter will get you there...Don't guess what your resistance is when a decent meter is very affordable.

I just ordered a mutation and doge rda from fasttech so I'll be building on those. I plan on running both rdas on a tugboat and istick 50w.
