This can range from 8W to 28W, depending on the coil, device, and if you’re using nicotine salts or not. For sub-ohm tanks, wattage recommendations for coils can range from about 30W to 110W, depending on the coil, device, and if you’re using e-juices or not. Hope this helps!

What is the best voltage to vape at?

Voltage is not the only factor that affects wattage – you also need to take into account the resistance of the coils. Lower resistance coils produce more flavour, vapour and heat at a lower voltage than higher ohm coils because they use more watts. For example, if you have a 1.8ohm coil running on 3.7 volts you’ll get an output of around 7.3 watts.

How much power does a vape coil use?

Jun 06, 2013 · Voltage = square-root of (desired watts * coil ohms). Use your computer calculator. Suggest somewhere around 7 or 8 watts if know don't know your personal preference. This is for single coils. For dual coils ...double the ohms 1st then calc. Example: 8 watts * 2.0 ohms = 16. Square root of 16 is 4 volts.

Do e-cigarettes have variable voltage?

Oct 27, 2014 · The voltage or wattage will depend on the ohms of the atomizer you have purchased. If you are vaping on a lower resistant atomizer, such as a 1.5ohms, you will want to vape at a lower voltage or wattage. If you are vaping on the higher end coil, such as the 2.1ohms, you will be able to go a little higher on the voltage or wattage.

Is a 14/15 Watt vape too low for me?

And for those of you who aren’t sure, what that means is if you look here, you have a little dial with varying numbers, so you could see, you start at 3.3 volts. That’s your power selection. And you see what I did there, how I could spin this little dial on the bottom. You could increase the power up to different settings were come down soon.

If it tastes burnt bump it down a notch is what I go by .. The resistance of the coil can vary the voltage needed for a good vape. Higher ohms will usually require higher voltage to achieve the same wattage.

Generally, it depends on the resistance you're using. If the head or coil is rated at 1.8 Ohms, you'd add 2 to that for your voltage and then adjust accordingly for taste. Depends on the juice, too. I found that lower voltages work better for some juices, and higher voltages for others. Whatever works for you, works.

What happens if you vape on the wrong wattage?

If you are vaping on the wrong level you run the risk of burning out your atomizer, and messing with the taste of your E-juice!

What happens if you use too much wattage in vaping?

If you use too high of a voltage or wattage, you can get a burnt taste from the E-juice. This burnt taste can also result from the coil burning out from vaping too high! With most E-juices, vaping on the right level (see chart above) will give you the best taste, and some even at a little lower of a level. The usual electronic cigarette pen is not meant to be used for blowing “clouds” which many beginning vapers try to do. Setting the voltage or wattage to it’s highest setting may give you a little more vapor, it will not be what you expect when it comes to taste! Some E-juices may vary and can be vaped at a higher voltage or wattage, it all depends on the E-juice company.

How many ohms does an atomizer have?

Atomizers will usually vary from 1.5-2.1ohms. You are able to check what atomizer in your tank by looking on the box of the tank you purchased, or on most pens when you put your tank on the e-cig, your e-cig will show you the ohms of the atomizer on the digital screen.

Can you blow clouds with an electronic pen?

The usual electronic cigarette pen is not meant to be used for blowing “clouds” which many beginning vapers try to do. Setting the voltage or wattage to it’s highest setting may give you a little more vapor, it will not be what you expect when it comes to taste!

What type of battery is used for e-cigarettes?

There are two main types of e-cigarette batteries which allow adjusting the intensity of current to which the atomizer is subjected - variable voltage ( VV) and variable wattage (VW) batteries.

What does it mean when you use a low resistance atomizer?

If you use a low-resistance atomizer which allows more current to pass through: the coil generates more heat. more vapour is generated. you may experience vapour with a less intense taste. the vapour is warmer.

Can an atomizer overheat?

However, this could cause problems - if you adjust excessively, the atomizer might overheat and you could experience a dry hit. In any event, the life of the atomizer is shortened dramatically. Variable voltage (V) devices vs. variable wattage (W) devices.

What is variable voltage in e-cigarettes?

Modern electronic cigarettes come with many features and one of these features is variable voltage. Not every e-cigarette comes with option of variable voltage, some already come with preconfigured constant power output. These types of e-cigarette are simple to use and more suitable for beginners. They deliver predesigned power to model specific atomizer, cartomizer, or clearomizer. However, more advance users prefer an option of variable voltage which allows them to control power output to achieve ideal vapor production. Them main reason why you would choose a variable voltage electronic cigarette over constant power e-cigarette, is the variety of different types and brands of atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers on the market today. If you are unfamiliar with different types of e-juice delivery devices be sure to check out our Tutorial: Atomizer vs. Cartomizer vs. Clearomizer.

What is variable voltage?

Consequently, variable voltage option allows you to set ideal power output depending on brand and model of atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers you are using.

What does ohm mean in e juice?

An Ohm rating indicates resistance level of a heating coil inside e-juice delivery device .

What happens if voltage is too low?

If voltage is set too low with respect to resistance level, vapor production will be low and inefficient.
