The XROS was by far the best, but half of the pods are absolute trash, leaking or defective. The Barr actualy was pretty solid except the battery life and the way you load it ended up pretty messy. The Osmall was the absolute worst, with 4 of the 6 pods straight up defective and the actual unit breaking after 2 weeks.
Durable mod with few disposable parts
I am completely new to vaping and seeking a good alternative to pipe smoking. I would rather avoid pods and pens with lots of disposable parts (or even throwing out the entire thing) out of concern for the environment.

It sounds like you have a short in the coil. Check the resistance on another device if you can, otherwise, replace or rebuild and you should be okay.

sounds like either coil is not seated properly (needs to be screwed in finger firm) or possibly center pin in mini has gotten pushed down (check pin - do you see any black marks or spots on it?)
