What is the PG VG ratio in vape vape?

The PG VG ratio depends more on how you vape. It depends on what vape mod or e-cigarette that is being used. There is both PG and VG in virtually all e-liquid blends. The ratio is the key to determining which e-liquid is right for any given vaping device.

What is the nicotine level of VG e-liquid?

In the case of VG e-liquids, the nicotine levels range from 0 mg to 6 mg. The most common nicotine levels are 3 mg and 6 mg. Because of the sheer amount of vapor produced, 6 mg is usually all that is required for a satisfying vape.

What is Max VG vape juice?

As we said, thicker clouds are a result of the higher amount of VG. MAX VG is great for vapers who wish to chase huge, thick clouds over and above. Having a MAX VG, the e-liquid may as well last longer, as it is denser compared to high PG e-liquid.

What is the best ratio for vaping?

This is a prevalent ratio within sub-ohm vapers. It allows users to have good throat hits and a bold flavor while still enjoying a decent amount of delicious thick vapor. It is also known as one of the finest ratios for high voltage systems, in addition to 80/20.

Is 80 VG good?

The best PG/VG ratio is dependent upon your preference, if you like big clouds and use a modern, sub ohm e-cig, then 80VG / 20PG might be the best. On the other hand, if you're using a small, EVOD style setup then you would find closer to 50VG / 50PG ratios being the best.

What wattage should I vape with high VG?

When it comes to your VG/PG ratio, you'll want to ideally look at a 70:30 balance here. You could use a 50:50 juice but because you're likely vaping at a higher wattage (anything over 20 watts), using more PG will give a much harsher throat hit.

Can you vape 100 VG?

The short answer is yes, you can! There's no reason why vaping 100% would be any worse from a health perspective than the combination of PG and VG that makes up the majority of e-liquids. Vegetable glycerin is a benign substance that has been rated safe to ingest by the FDA.

Is it better to have more VG or PG?

PG carries flavor marginally better than VG, so the flavor will be slightly improved. Smoothness – High VG fluid tends to give a much smoother feeling on the throat, with a more substantial, 'thicker' mouthfeel.

What percentage VG should I get?

For those who are less concerned with the flavour of their e-liquid and enjoy producing massive clouds when vaping, 90% VG/ 10% PG is the perfect ratio. This mixture is ideal for use on high wattage vape devices.

Does high VG juice burn coils?

If your juice doesn't soak into the wick as quickly, you're more likely to run into dry puffs and possibly burn your wicks. This means that juices with a high VG content (70 % or higher) can cause problems with wicking and may ruin your coils.

Is high VG better?

Higher VG liquids work better with lower resistance coils (less than 1ohm), whilst 50/50 e-liquids work well with higher resistance coils (more than 1ohm). High VG e-liquids produce more vapour and have a smoother throat-hit, but the liquid is thick and can clog up coils quickly.

What PG VG ratio is best for pods?

50%VGIf a pod system is used, a 50%VG or lower blend is recommended since these systems have small wicking channels which can have trouble with 70%VG liquids.

What is considered high VG?

At 70% VG or more, an e-juice is generally considered to be a high VG e-liquid, which is also the level where you start experiencing the effects most closely associated with vegetable glycerin (e.g. smoother hits and more vapor).

What does 70% VG mean?

vegetable glycerinLike PG, VG is also classified chemically as an alcohol. As it's a lot thicker than PG, it takes more power to vaporise which in turn is why you get so much more vapour with high VG e-liquids. Generally, we'd classify a “high VG e-liquid” as anything with 70% or more vegetable glycerin.

How much e-liquid do you use?

If you're using a pen-style device… For heavy smokers – of a pack a day or more – 18 mg/ml e-liquid is the ideal level. If you smoked a little less – up to a pack a day – 12 mg/ml will likely be enough nicotine for your needs, and will keep the throat hit more manageable.

What does 70 PG 30 VG mean?

An e-liquid with a VG:PG of 70:30 will contain 70% vegetable glycerine and 30% propylene glycol.

How to Know if Your E-Liquid Has Too Much VG

The atomizer coil in your vaping device has a cotton wick, and the coil assembly has holes that allow e-liquid to travel from the tank’s reservoir to the cotton. The smaller a vape tank is, the smaller the wick holes will be – and a very thick e-liquid may have trouble getting through those holes.

How to Know if Your E-Liquid Has Too Much PG

If you have a vape pen or box mod with a refillable tank, your tank’s atomizer coil assembly likely has fairly large wick holes to accommodate thicker e-liquids because most people these days buy e-liquids with at least 50 percent VG.

What is VG vape?

VG is a thick and sticky, odorless, and slimy ingredient. As mentioned earlier, consistency is vital, and the vape juice will burn if it gets too watery. VGs high smoke point hinders this from occurring; also, its thicknesses allow the clouds to thicken.

What are the ingredients in e-liquid?

E-liquid comprises four ingredients: vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG), flavorings, and nicotine. The base being the VG and PG to ensure that the vape juice has the correct consistency to exist solely. Basically, there is no exact PG vs VG proportion for e-liquids since some vapers like more VG and others like more PG.

What does "maximum" mean in e-liquid?

This means maximum, meaning that the e-liquid holds more VG and almost no PG. As we said, thicker clouds are a result of the higher amount of VG.

Is PG a thinner vape?

On the other hand, PG is more liquid and thinner; thus, balancing the VG and inhibiting vape juice from becoming exceedingly thick. PG thinness thins vaporizer clouds. However, it is also said to give a deeper throat hit and concentrate the flavor due to the way it evaporates.

Can you change the ratio of e-liquid?

It turns out that even minor adjustments to the proportion of e-liquid might alter the vaping experience quite dramatically. This is why understanding what the ratios do to vaping experience is so significant. Changing that ratio may result in stronger flavor, bigger clouds, and a powerful throat hit.

Is there a difference between VG and PG in vape juice?

Basically, there is no exact PG vs VG proportion for e-liquids since some vapers like more VG and others like more PG. That is the reason why vape juice is available in a wide variety of proportions. The user can choose the one suiting their requirements and vape appropriately.

What does PG and VG mean?

So what does this ratio mean? What is PG and VG? First and foremost, PG stands for “propylene glycol” and VG stands for “vegetable glycerin”. PG and VG are liquid ingredients used in vape juice, which can be combined with differing levels of nicotine.

Why does PG e-liquid have throat hits?

A throat hit is said by users to mimic the sensation when smoking tobacco products. So tobacco lovers usually gravitate to e-liquids that contain a higher PG. Additionally, PG e-liquid is the less viscous option of the two, which makes it more easily absorbed by cotton fabric inside cartomizers and wick tanks.

Does vegetable glycerin make e-liquid taste sweeter?

Flavor: Vegetable glycerin alters e-liquid flavors and causes them to be sweeter in taste.

Can you smoke PG in vape?

If you’ve never smoked tobacco cigarettes before either, a strong PG throat kick may be a bit harder to handle as well. However over time, vape enthusiasts say that users may eventually lean more towards e-liquids with more PG in them.

Is VG the same as PG?

Now, VG on the other hand is different. Vegetable Glycerin is a natural substance that is taken from vegetable oil. Because of this it’s considered to be a natural chemical. VG is thicker in substance, which causes thick cloud production on the exhale. When e-juices are described as “smooth,” it is because of the VG that is present. The differences in VG compared to PG ultimately are:

Is throat hit less than PG?

Throat hit: The throat hit is significantly less than that with PG, which makes e-juices smoother on the throat.

Does PG vape juice have a flavor?

Flavorless: PG has no taste and no odor, so it doesn’t alter the flavor of the vape juice in anyway.

Being fairly new I'm doing a lot of ordering of juices from different vendors. I like that many of them give me the options to pick my PG to VG ratio but am just not well versed on what a preferred ratio is so I've been ordering anywhere from 70/30 PG/VG to 50/50.

Used to have 80VG/20PG - lots of vapor, but I started to miss that 'throat hit' you get when smoking analogs. The big amount of VG also took away from the flavor of the juice, so that bothered me.

I like 50/50 as well but at 1st I used 80% PG. It's just to harsh to stay on for me though.

Hey Roonies! I vape generally at 70/30 too. I really don't know why aside from the fact that I purchased some 50/50 once & the flavor wasn't quite the same. It was also premixed at my closest B&M so I didn't have the option to get extra flavor shots. I have seen several posts about people having allergies to both pg & vg.

I tend to not like a lot of throat hit, preferring a smoother vape. Therefore I use a 50/50 ratio, occassionally higher Vg mix.

How much PG to VG ratio?

The basics of PG and VG are quite easy to grasp. They both work in different ways, and each has advantages and disadvantages. Our advice is to start with a 50-50 PG to VG ratio then try out various combinations and see which you prefer. Make sure your vaping setup can deal with the different ratios.

What does PG stand for in vaping?

PG stands for Propylene Glycol, a petroleum by-product. The fluid has no odor or color and is less viscous than VG. In vaping it is used to provide a ‘throat hit’, which some users claim is similar to the sensation experienced when smoking tobacco.

What are PG and VG?

PG and VG are the odorless liquids that are combined with flavor and nicotine to create e-juice.

What VG/PG ratio should I use?

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this. It depends on the kind of vaping experience you prefer. Many people use various levels of PG and VG for different purposes:

What tanks are susceptible to high VG?

Older products are especially susceptible, particularly models that use smaller coils such as clearomizers. The Nautilus range and eGo tanks are some of the more well-known tanks that are known to have difficulties dealing with high VG fluid.

What is the difference between e-liquid and e-liquid?

They have distinct mouth and throat sensations when vaped. Most modern e-liquid uses a combination of the two fluids, though the ratio can vary dramatically.

Is PG a sugar alcohol?

Both PG and VG technically belong to the alcohol chemical class (despite the name, they are not intoxicating). They are class ified as sugar alcohols and are included in many consumable products. They produce vapor when heated, which allows them to be inhaled.

How much nicotine is in VG?

VG heavy e-liquids usually have a nicotine strength of 3mg or less, as anything above this becomes too harsh.

Which produces more vapour: VG or PG?

VG produces more vapour than PG and has a smoother ‘throat-hit’, making it ideal for ‘cloud-chasing’ with a sub-ohm device.

What is the best PG/VG ratio?

The PG/VG ratio you use will depend on what vaping device and coil pairing you have.

How does the PG/VG ratio affect the nicotine strength I need?

You may have noticed that e-liquid with a higher PG ratio is available in higher nicotine strengths , whereas higher VG ratio e-liquids typically only reach 3mg. This is because when you vape using a DTL sub-ohm device that’s suited to VG heavy e-liquids, you tend to inhale more vapour (and more nicotine) than you would with an MTL device. Higher nicotine levels would be too harsh in these circumstances.

What is the base of e-liquid?

Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerine (VG) form the base of all e-liquids and affect the liquid’s thickness, flavour intensity, throat-hit and vapour production.

What is the difference between PG and VG?

What’s the difference between PG and VG? 1 Vegetable Glycerine is a colourless and odourless natural, syrup-like liquid extracted from vegetable oils. 2 VG produces more vapour than PG and has a smoother ‘throat-hit’, making it ideal for ‘cloud-chasing’ with a sub-ohm device. 3 It has a thicker consistency than PG. Due to this, you will rarely see an e-liquid with a higher VG ratio of 80% as the liquid becomes extremely thick and clogs up coils. 4 VG has a slightly sweet taste which can have a small effect on the overall taste of the e-liquid. 5 VG is commonly found in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, as it provides several benefits. For example, VG provides a sweet taste and can stop ice crystals from forming in frozen foods such as ice cream. 6 The FDA has classified vegetable glycerine as “generally recognised as safe”.

What is e-liquid made of?

Commonly, e-liquid will be made from a combination of both PG and VG and the ratio is usually stated on the bottle (eg. 70VG/30PG). But what are Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerine? In this quick and easy guide, we explain what they are, the differences between them, and the benefits of each, so you can decide which ratio will work best for you.

What is the best VG PG ratio for a sub ohm vape?

80% VG / 20% PG – this VG PG ratio is the sweet spot for most sub ohm vapers. Terrific for atomizers 0.5 ohms or below. At this ratio, the vapor production is immense and there is still enough flavor to be truly enjoyable.

What does VG stand for in vaping?

VG stands for vegetable glycerin. VG is a thick liquid that is typically extracted from the oils of palm plants. The advantage of VG for vaping is the tremendous amount of vapor that can be produced from a small amount of liquid. It is a clear, odorless liquid that has a slightly sweet taste.

What Is PG?

PG stands for propylene glycol. PG is a clear, odorless, and tasteless liquid. It can be produced as a byproduct of fermentation, from fossil fuel processing, or from synthetic production. For vapor products, PG usually comes from synthetic production. This substance is not new. In fact, humans have been using it for more than a century in a number of everyday products. PG is a humectant and can absorb moisture. It is used in foods, toothpaste, shampoo, medications, and it makes vapor!

What is the most common nicotine level in a vape?

The most common nicotine levels for PG liquids are 12 mg, 18 mg, and 24 mg. In the case of VG e-liquids, the nicotine levels range from 0 mg to 6 mg. The most common nicotine levels are 3 mg and 6 mg. Because of the sheer amount of vapor produced, 6 mg is usually all that is required for a satisfying vape.

What is sub ohm vaping?

As a general rule, e-liquids that have more VG than PG are designed for e-cig mods that use atomizers with less than 1.0 ohms of resistance. This is otherwise known as sub ohm vaping. Temperature control vaping also uses atomizers less than 1.0 ohms.

What is the difference between VG and PG?

Also as a general rule, PG e-liquids produce less vapor but a stronger hit. VG e-liquids produce a more gentle vapor, but much more vapor. That is a quick overview of what the PG VG ratio meaning is about.

What is the best e-liquid for cloud chasing?

Vegetable glycerin is used at least in some ratio in almost all e-liquids. It does not carry the flavor as well as PG, but the vapor production is incredible. VG is the preferred ingredient for sub ohm vaping and the best e-liquid for cloud chasing. Cloud chasing may not be the best choice for new vapers. Sub ohm vaping and cloud chasing require some experience and knowledge to fully enjoy.
