Does vaping affect a singers voice?

If the delicate lining of the vocal cords are exposed to hot, vaporized chemicals, the tissues are likely to undergo change and lose their ability to behave normally. This may produce hoarseness, loss of vocal range, voice fatigue, or vocal injury.

Can you vape and still be a good singer?

Singers should consider vaping as a means of quitting smoking. However, various studies have shown that vaping has negative consequences on both the vocal cords and lungs. As a result, long-term vaping is not advised for singers. If you're currently a smoker, vaping can certainly be an effective method of quitting.

Does vaping change your face?

“The nicotine in vaping liquids dehydrates your skin,” explains Dr. Raja. “So you can get premature wrinkles and very dry skin, which don't look good. In addition to skin aging, too, vaping can also delay wound healing.

Does vaping permanently damage your lungs?

Lung disease: Vaping can make asthma and other existing lung diseases worse. Breathing in the harmful chemicals from vaping products can cause irreversible (cannot be cured) lung damage, lung disease and, in some cases, death.

I did both. The straight PG is a bit dehydrating, which naturally crackled my voice. Once I forced myself to drink more water (pure water, not coffee or soda) my voice returned... but it returned better than when I was smoking. Then I tried a mix of pg/vg and the crackle went completely away and... yes!! The voice can finally vocalize itself!!

I was low alto prior to quitting. I'm noticing a higher tone to my voice now. Miss my alto voice though!

I read about the effects of vaping on a singer's voice on ECF a while back, and basically what it said was that once you start vaping, you sing better than you would if you smoked analogs. This made sense to me because I'd expect analogs to be way more harsh on the lungs, vocal chords, etc.

t's not like I was some Mariah Carey before, but now I'm sounding more Bob Dylan.

I've had the same problem. Smoking actually gave my dull voice a bit of character (I didn't start smoking until I was 20). My voice feels stronger but seems to die out quicker. I haven't had an analog in 6 months though so I think That I need to just keep it wet. That seems to be the big fix.

Prefer bob Dylan lol Have you been to a dylen concert lately . His voice sounds like a screeching crackling crkhead now . Check his latest reviews . His die hard fans wont even go see him anymore and say he should have quit years ago . Im a fan of his songs but not live .

I've used pure PG and it's super harsh on the throat. I would assume you mean try pure VG since that is the kind that's smoother. Regardless, I tried pure PG and PG/VG mixes and so far, nothing is helping. I wouldn't use pure VG because I need some throat hit plus it would clog my cartos. My throat doesn't feel sore at all.

Does vaping make your voice better?

No one will know if your voice will get better, as no one knows what, if anything, is wrong with your voice. If you feel vaping changed it, you've made the right decision in stopping. Now go see a doctor, and maybe they can put your mind at ease. Best of luck.

Does vaping affect your voice?

You voice and vocal cords are affected by lots of different things. Age, use (let's face it, greater strain on a singer's voice than on mine) will change pitch. Vaping can irritate your throat and vocal cords. Stopping is the absolute right thing for you to do.

Is vaping bad for someone who takes care of their voice and skin? Like say a singer/model/actor?

ByeByeCoffinNails Senior Member ECF Veteran

No. If anything the nose and lungs will be clearer for singing! One of the side effects of vaping I discovered is that I can sing again. As for the skin, I would not worry. Vaping has done nothing to my skin.

Had a local male v-vert, whose GF is a singer and part-time smoker, buy her a Riva kit from me. She just got back from a J'ville, FL engagement with a joose reorder. She says that she can really tell the diff twix a cig and vaping. She said she gained an half octave with vaping... (hearsay from da singer).

Well blu, there is nothing worse for the skin than smoking. You sound like someone who is interested in vaping alone for the fun? Vaping dehydrates the skin--some people say their skin cleared up from smoking, mine took forever as I was dehydrated and is still not as nice if I had quit.

However, remember nicotine comes out in the pores so massive nicotine from vaping can lead to oily skin, sweating.

Some people experience 'quit zits', but this is a common effect of quitting smoking, not of vaping.

So DMB was in raleigh recently and I got tix at the last minute. Didn't really have time to prepare my vape setup, or think about it. So I just filled my ADV setup (kanger subtank and black K-Box) with higher nic juices. Higher nic because this is the first concert I've been to as a Vaper and I tend to want to smoke when I drink.

Had about the same experience shortly after I started vaping a friend invited me to go see Buckcherry at Warehouse Live here in Houston.

Guess what I did a few days ago at Gran Teatre del Liceu.... because "Cosi fan tutte", don't they?

DanJiblets Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Even way before I started vaping, I used to always buy one of those disposable Blu ecigs for concerts. You can't smoke indoors in Chicago anywhere. Now that I'm a full time vapor I just bring my vape, and am usually shocked at the lack of others vaping.

I was happily stealth vaping at a winery Saturday! One little kid asked my why smoke was shooting out of my nose but that was about as bad as I encountered!!

Vaped fine at warped tour (outside) sonicboom (outside) the rave (inside) and resch center (inside) No weird looks and i seen dozens of other vapers at each event. With so much..other.. stuff being smoked no one really notices your melon vapor .

Why does my throat dry out when I vape?

Please be carefull...... The dry throat is just a symptom of a larger problem...... Nicotine dehydrates the whole body...... If you VAPE in large amounts, you need to drink large amounts of fluid...... Most of the so-called Nicotine overdose is dehydration...... Please drink fluids when VAPING.......

What is the best way to get rid of dry throat from vaping?

Found something that helps some with the dry throat from vaping. It is called Clear Voice spray. It it use for singers to sooth tired voices and scratchy throats. It saids, spray two spray in back of throat. I spray 4.

When vaping in public, I do my best not to blow out clouds of vapor. When people don't see "smoke" they don't pay any attention. The trouble with being brazen about vaping is that you will give the public a bad impression that they may one day carry to the voting booth.

i don't vape anywhere i don't know the owner, but i thought it was funny. i wasn't about to lecture some random about the societal effects of him vaping on the bus..

What an incredibly arrogant thing to do... Why do people think its okay to invade others personal space like that? No seriously, how obnoxious can you be? You're on a freaking bus.

I ride a motorcycle and we have the same issues. Jackasses stunting in traffic is what people remember, not the guy who just rode by them on both wheels.

I think sometimes I'm just so use to vaping at home I don't even realize when I'm walking into a store vaping. Or on a bus, train, etc. Whoever is with me at the time has to remind me.
