The Crown Ni200 coils I think are 0.15 ohm. I vape 0.15 ohm Ni200 Kanger coils at 460 to 500 degrees (F) and pump in 40W to bring it up to temp. If the coil is OK and you're getting the metal taste this will subside after the first tank is vaped.

Is ni200 wire good for sub ohm coil heads?

While it was the preferred wire among some sub ohm coil builders, due to the fast ramp up of heat, it is not the Ni200 coil wire used in many sub-ohm prebuilt coil heads. With a heat resistance of 2624: Fahrenheit, Ni200 wire is pliable and easily moldable.

Is ni200 wire good for temperature control?

Because nickel has virtually no resistance, making it ideal for modern temperature control systems in use today on many popular mods. Ni200 is widely available in the following gauges: 28, 30, & 32. Because of the Temperature Coefficient, only pure nickel wires are used in temperature control mods.

How do you heat up your coil?

Use boost or punch preheat to ramp up faster and then tc holds the temp to keep your coil at the temp you set. If 500 seems comfortable and you dial in watts to get there it will level at the set temp and only apply enough power to maintain that set point.

Nickel 200Nickel 200: commonly known as ni200, it was the first temperature control coil but it's less common now due to some vapers having sensitivities to nickel. Titanium Grade 1: otherwise known as Ti. It works well in TC but the user has to make sure it does not get overheated.

What temp and wattage should I vape at?

Many people agree that 420 degrees Fahrenheit or 216 degrees Celsius is the sweet spot. You get as much flavor as possible without feeling the warmth of the vapor. If you want to add even more flavor, try a temperature between 425 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit or 218 and 232 degrees Celsius.

What coil setting should my vape be on?

For 2-ohm coils, the ideal voltage falls between the ballpark of 3.3 to 4.0 volts. Higher ohm (aka higher resistance) coils allow for a higher voltage. They also tend to produce less vapour and at a cooler temperature. With this in mind, it's upon you to find out what works best for your palate.

The sweet spot for getting a balance of vapour and flavour is around 0.3ohms. Depending on your coil choice you'll want to up the wattage from anywhere between 50 and 100 watts. Clapton and Alien coils usually take a bit more power to ramp up so you'll want to boost the wattage if you're using either of these options.

Perfect. Will try. Not sure what a machine screw might be but I did see something said about how they must be evenly spaced. I saw someone wrap one around a screw driver and then lightly pulled it apart letting it spring back as it wished, that way the spaces were even so i shall assume I can do that.

Using a #6 machine screw is just a way to keep your coils spaced evenly. I have build with it and without it.

So I just wrapped this on my subtank mini for a ipv d2 that will be here tomorrow. Its 2.5mm 28g ni200 10 wraps. I wrapped it spaced then pushed them together. I wrapped the legs around the screw heads instead of just laying the wire across to the outside. After I wicked it I fiddled with them a little to get them straight.

Nichrome is generally considered an obsolete material so it wouldn’t surprise me. This is one reason why I avoid coil head cartridges. You are subject to the whims of manufacturing

I have been vaping with kanger for 6 years and I like to vape with Ni200 coils, but I'm noticing alot of places are sold out. Is kangertech still manufacturing them?

Pete M Senior Member

I've noticed they stopped selling them in shops here (UK). I was told in the vape shop I go to they've stopped manufacturing but maybe take that with a pinch of salt. They're pretty reliable but just because they're not stocking them anymore doesn't necessarily mean that.

I use mainly Kanger too -- I have 2 Kbox nano boxes, a subtank mini box, nebox and a subbox mega. I mainly use with toptanks (mini and nano) and protank 4 . They all take the same coil heads as well as the rba piece so now I just use the rba so I do not have to buy coils anymore.

chellie Ultra Member ECF Veteran

I use the all subtank minis, and it's so weird but I like to use them on the joyetech ego one VT on Ni setting with the Ni200 coils, all the mods that I set the temperature just doesn't compare to my ego VT weird huh lol I bought like 10 of the ego one VT because the break so easily.

I have been thinking about trying to build my own coils, I just thought it looked so complicated, and with kids not much time to do it. But it doesn't sound that bad how you explained so maybe I will give it a shot. Does the flavor taste good still. And which cottons do you buy? That bacon package I always see online?

Beamslider Vaping Master Verified Member ECF Veteran

If you plan on using NI200 for to build coils, dry burning it is probably not a good idea.
