Put your mod into TC mode and select the corresponding wire type for the coils you have. If the mod has a TCR you can enter the exact TCR value. After that, ensure that your mod and tank are both at room temperature so the temperature readings will be more accurate.

What is TCR mode on a vape?

May 15, 2020 · The TCR mode in vape devices assigns a value that depends on the best temperature for each coil type. This mode allows you to get the best results from your vape and coil combined. TCR doesn’t actually tell you about the coil temperature. Instead, the value is more about the relationship between heat and resistance.

Why do different vape coils have different TCR values?

Dec 26, 2017 · Use Vape TCR Mode Suit Your Unique Coils. Use the TCR mode on your device when using unique coils. TC or Temperature Control has allowed Vapers to more accurately control their vaping experience. When you change the temperature, the juice usage, vapor creation, battery life and heat of inhale can all be controlled far more accurately.

How does a TC vape work?

Jun 15, 2018 · Vape TCR mode has to do with the specific resistance and heat that corresponds to a particular type of alloy (metal) that’s used in an atomizer coil. In simplest terms, less resistance equals more heat at a faster rate. Depending on the alloy used to make the coil, the relationship between the potential heat and resistance level will change.

How to use a TC without vaping?

Oct 04, 2018 · If it doesn't change much or at all it's probably kanthal. When TC is set up right, you'll never get a dry hit, and you can leave your mod turned on in your pocket. If you hit the fire button and hold it without vaping on it the TC will burn at your set temp until the mod cuts it off at 10s or whatever. You won't even smoke the wick (dry it maybe).

What is TC TCR mode on a vape?

This specific TCR value of the wire is kept in mind by the vape mod, allowing it to adjust the amount of power being sent to the coil and thus control the temperature.Mar 19, 2021

What is TC NI mode?

First Time Temperature Control Setup: Depending on your vaporizer, it may have a single TC Vape Mode that supports both Nickel (Ni) and Titanium (Ti) coils, or it may have a specific Temperature Control Mode that must be set to support either Nickel (Ni) or Titanium (Ti) coils individually.Jan 21, 2016

What is temperature control vaping?

Temperature control vaping can be an amazing experience. It provides the security of consistency that wattage vaping often lacks. No one likes dry or burnt hits, or vapes that get too hot with long hits. TC vaping solves that.

What type of wire do you use for vaping?

Next, you must vape with the right wire type. TC vaping generally uses one of these four types of vape wires: Stainless steel: this wire is very popular and readily available. It comes in various grades such as 304, 316, 316L, 317, and 430 but the most common is SS316L. SS can be used in wattage or temperature control mode.

What is the best wire for vaping?

TC vaping generally uses one of these four types of vape wires: 1 Stainless steel: this wire is very popular and readily available. It comes in various grades such as 304, 316, 316L, 317, and 430 but the most common is SS316L. SS can be used in wattage or temperature control mode. 2 Nickel 200: commonly known as ni200, it was the first temperature control coil but it’s less common now due to some vapers having sensitivities to nickel. 3 Titanium Grade 1: otherwise known as Ti. It works well in TC but the user has to make sure it does not get overheated. 4 Nickel ferrous: also known as NiFe, comes in various grades such as 48, 30, 52, 70 and can be used in either mode, but is not widely available.

Can you adjust wattage on a vape mod?

Prior to TC, most top vape mods could only adjust watts (another innovation from Evolv a few years prior.) Now in 2020, like wattage control, temperature control is a feature found in most vape mods.

How Does Vape TCR Mode Work?

The simplest way to explain it is that you have the ability to fine-tune your mod to be as accurate as possible, even with coils and materials it wasn’t designed to handle straight out of the box.#N#Each vape manufacturer presets certain alloys into the system and we read them as SS, Ti, or Ni, but they should actually go further in their explanation.#N#What they normally do is program in the numbers for the coil systems they use, so while you may put in a Stainless Steel coil, it may be SS316 and the mod is set up to handle SS304.#N#The TCR mode allows you to manually put in the code to get the best results from your mod and coil combined.#N#The Vape manufacturers could make our lives a lot simpler by putting the correct information both on the screen of the device AND the coil heads that they sell, because the majority of vapers are feeling around in the dark hoping they get the settings right.#N#Related Post: The Impact of FDA Ingredient Listing Delay to Vape Manufacturers.

What is the temperature coefficient of resistance?

A simple explanation of Temperature Coefficient of Resistance is that, as noted, different materials can handle different heats at different electrical resistance. Most of the vaping world already has a vague sense of ohms and temperature control.

Do you need to know TCR for mods?

So, in short, staying within the comfortable confines of pre-packaged coils and mods should present no need to know any of the TCR values, as the engineers who built your equipment would have already pre-built them into the system.

I've only had this mod for a few days, and I really love it, but I can't seem to find a difference in vape experience using temp control. Could it be my coil possibly?? Using the aero mesh it came with. Guessing that it's kanthal?? Can't find any info on that either. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Tc is only made to be used with compatible wire as showed in most tc modes (aka SS,Ni,Ti or Sainless Steel,Titanium and nickel i believe).

unlock the resistance and see how much it changes when you hit the fire button. temp control measures the change in resistance of the coil as it heats to estimate coil temp. kanthal doesn't change enough for vape temps to be reliably used in TC. if you're at .17ohm, if the coil changes resistance up to .2+ its stainless.

Your mesh is likely not TC. Additionally while mesh requires pretty high wattage, and may burn through juice and batteries.

If you want a mesh coil that can be used with TC look in to the Freemax Mesh Pro tank. Freemax has a .12 ohm stainless 316L mesh coil for TC rated 400 to 550 F. I'm sure others may have as well but Freemax is the only one I know for sure.

What are the different types of stainless steel coils?

There are different types of Stainless Steel coils, such 302, 316L, 430, etc. The same goes with Titanium and Nickel, and each variation or each material have different reactions to temperature changes.

Why is everything so complicated?

The reason why everything is complicated is the lack of standardisation. To be fair, having every manufacturer use the same alloy for the coils – hence the same TCR tuning in their mods – is a very daunting task. It will also limit the customisation options of users.
