Yup, I prefer it that way as do a lot of others. There's several threads in the DIY forum on this very subject.

I use PGA (Everclear) or distiller water to thin my non-PG DIY mixes. I always cut it...never been satisfied with an uncut 100% VG mix...too thick IMO.

yzer Vaping Master ECF Veteran

Sure, all I use is nicotine/glycerin USP base and dilute it to 20 mg nicotine strength with more glycerin USP. To that I add 5 drops of distilled water to each ml of nicotine/glycerine mix. Then I bottle it up. I don't even use flavorings. Just Glycerin USP, nicotine and water.

I ordered Vapor King Express Automatic E Tank version. Can I refill it and would diluted Glycerin harm the hardware ?

martinc Vaping Master Verified Member ECF Veteran

Unlikely, but VG is unflavored and without nicotine, you planning on making your own e- juice ?

MuddyWaterMan Super Member ECF Veteran

Some people use a small amount of alcohol (vodka or everclear not Isopropal ) or water to thin or add throat hit to juice. Other than that I wouldn't recommend experimentation without LOTS of research first!

mr quackums Senior Member ECF Veteran

i would think any liquid that goes from liquid to gas at whatever temp the atty gets to would be vapeable.

I may not need it since I just ordered 4oz Atomic Doubler from TV, but I am curious if anyone has been successful in making their own? I was guessing Cinnamon, Cayenne and something to add a bit of sweetness.

OK, this may be the dumbest question ever asked on ECF, but could Unsweetened Kool-Aid powder be dissolved into e- juice for flavoring? The listed ingredients are fruit flavoring, citric acid, calcium phosphate, salt, and Vitamin C.

Hoosier Vaping Master ECF Veteran

TPA/TFA has a grape flavoring that tastes like grape Kool-Aid when mixed up right. (It's one of my sister's favorite mixes of mine.)

I think it might have something to do with the e-liquid being more concentrated in liquid form and we can absorb it through our skin.

I thought PG was used in Gel Capsules in pharmaceutical applications. Where the Gel dissipates in the stomach acids and the medicine is released. Considering that the Gel is PG and getting dissolved in the stomach, I can't much understand why they would insinuate that it is toxic and harmful.

I have read the PG is toxic to cats and you should make sure it's not something they're going to be exposed to in any quantity.

I'm new to vaping. I started about three weeks ago. I love it. I running a LavaTube with a LR carto tank. I'm struggling giving up that first cig in the morning and the last one at night. I was doing okay enough with it until my roommate started griping that she thinks she's allergic to the second hand vape.

kabonk Vaping Master Verified Member ECF Veteran

IDK is she allergic to PG? even then IDK PG is in a lot of things that she probably uses everyday maybe she just reacting to the vapor she see or is sensitive to a certain flavor, what's her symptoms? time to loose the room mate

Njt07 Ultra Member ECF Veteran

This was also suggested to another vapor with roommate issues. Try just using unflavored pg and then unflavored vg. If she reacts, or doesn't, then it may be the flavor you are using. What juice are you using? Could it be something else? Cat, dog, dust, new construction in the area could be kicking up pollen since its the beginning of spring.

You say that vaporizers do the same thing to her. It seems odd that something as innocuous and healthy as raising the humidity of a living space could trigger adverse reactions from your roomy. Apparently there's more going on than just your vaping.

Ianitor Full Member

I heared something about allergic cause of vaping but dont know if its possible.

ctourtelot Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

I would say it's not likely a PG allergy especially if she just had surgery. Many hospitals pump PG through their air systems to decrease the amount of airborn bacteria. She might be allergic to a particular flavoring so I would go with some of the above suggestions of trial and error.

It appears that more and more studies are finding formaldehyde being released in ejuice when the voltage is 5 volts or higher. Anything lower than 5 volts and no trace of formaldehyde is being detected. Also, the formaldehyde detected is 15X stronger than that found in a normal cigarette.

beckdg ECF Guru Verified Member ECF Veteran

Will we be seeing formaldehyde-free juice once the FDA steps in? How would that even work?

Spencer87 Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

Look at it this way, formaldehyde is used to preserve dead people and you are jump starting the process so by the time you die, you'll look FABULOUS!!! People will be like "It's sad he died so young, he looks 30!" and then someone will step in and say "What are you talking about? He was 88"

daviedog Vaping Master ECF Veteran

18 ml or 1.8%, not mg. I doubt it would kill you, but you never can tell..

The Torch Ultra Member ECF Veteran

I think you'd have to actually drink your e- juice and swallow it before reaching a dangerous level. I've had a few drops of 18mg juice in my mouth and haven't suffered from it; it stings ever so slightly, pretty much the same feeling as wetting a cigar with your mouth, but it tasted so much better (cherry tobacco with a strooong cherry flavor).

e30holmes Senior Member ECF Veteran

I would be impressed if you could inhale 2ml of e liquid! If you consumed enough e liquid to poisen your self im going to assume you were trying to do so. Accidental spills or even 2ml of juice in your mouth won't kill you and you would honestly have to try and drink it to make your self sick.

dabba1991 Senior Member

you really have to be a troll to say "I mean you could probably drink a whole bottle of bleach and not die, but a few drops of e liquid and you could possibly?" bleach can kill you with a very small amount and even taking a sip of it and swallowing it BURNS your mouth, esophagus, and stomach.

InTheShade Vaping Master Verified Member ECF Veteran

30-60mg of nicotine can kill an adult, in one cartridge say you hold 2ml of 18mg e liquid and then there's somehow a crack and it leaks as you inhale then you inhale 2ml of e liquid... You would consume 36mg?
