Can I use 50/50 PG E-liquid for sub ohm vaping?

A 50/50 or PG e-liquid will not work for sub ohm vaping. VG juice is thicker and made for low resistance vape coils. In addition, the VG makes massive plumes of vapor. There is always at least some PG in a VG vape juice to carry the flavor.

What is sub ohm vaping and is it safe?

Direct To Lung vaping, as the name suggests, involves breathing vapour deep into the lungs in one inhalation before then exhaling. In effect, the main reason that sub ohm vaping is not recommended to new vapers is that it involves a style of inhaling they’re probably not used to.

Should I Opt for a regulated mod during sub-ohm vaping?

Opt for a regulated mod during sub-ohm vaping. We will not discuss unregulated mods as they can be complex for a novice vaper to operate.

What is a sub-ohm vape?

Much like smoking a cigarette. While the usual range for standard vaping is between 1.5 ohms and 3 ohms, using a vaporizer containing an atomizer coil with a resistance of less than 1 ohm is technically referred to as sub-ohm vaping. While it might sound somewhat simple, it’s actually a fairly complex topic.

How long does a sub ohm coil last?

4 days to 1 weekOn average, a decently constructed coil for a sub-ohm tank should last you 4 days to 1 week. If you vape less because you cannot vape during work hours, or you do not vape throughout the day, then your coils are likely to last twice as long.

How long should you wait between each puffs on a vape?

The general rule is to wait 15 to 30 seconds before puffing again. For people who are trying to quit smoking, 30 seconds can be a long wait. In this case, you can buy e-juice with a higher nicotine level.

How long should a 1.2 ohm coil last?

between one to two weeksA new coil should last between one to two weeks. However, most e-liquids leave a thin layer of residue when they are vaporized. This builds up around your coils and wicks and can end up clogging your device in the long run.

What is the difference between a 0.6 and 1.2 coil?

The 0.6ohm coil is perfect for hybrid sub vaping that want more clouds and low nicotine dosage. The new 1.2ohm coil is for true mouth to lung vaping and perfect for high nicotine dosage without flavourloss.

How often should I change coil in vape?

If you're a heavy vaper, using your e-cig many times a day, you might need to change the coil every couple of days. If you are a regular vaper but not particularly heavy, it could last a week or two. Irregular or casual vapers might find they need only change their coil every four weeks.

Is Sub ohm vaping better?

Due to the density of the cloud, one can taste much more flavour of the e-liquid while Sub-Ohming, compared to classic vaping. 4. Generally speaking, Sub-Ohm devices are better engineered than standard e-cigarette pens due to the fact they are more robust and have a solid structure.

Can you vape water in a vape?

Yes, obviously you can vape water since it's a liquid with a low evaporation point… and it won't produce any nasty chemicals.

How often should you vape a day?

There is no one answer to the question of how often you should vape, as it depends on a variety of factors. Some people may find that they enjoy vaping every day, while others may only want to vape occasionally. The most important thing is to figure out what works best for you and stick to it.

How many puffs of vape equals a cigarette?

When we transfer it into puffs on average, it means that you will have to take 500 hits of vape to smoke as much nicotine as you would with a single cigarette.

How many puffs a day vape?

The median number of puffs per day was 132. After removing days of use with less than 5 puffs, the median rises to 140 puffs / day.

How to use sub ohm vape?

Here are the key points to remember: 1 Sub ohm vaping uses atomizers with a resistance of less than 1.0 ohms. 2 Also called DL, or Direct Lung vaping. 3 Use regulated mods, mech mods are dangerous. 4 Use sub ohm vape tanks as opposed to building your own coils.

What is the difference between a sub ohm and a regular vape?

This is the main difference between sub ohm vaping vs regular vaping. Sub-ohm vape mods produce bigger and thicker clouds as compared to regular mods. Because there is so much more vapor, the vape liquid used for sub ohm atomizers tends to have less nicotine than a standard e-cig.

What is temperature control vape?

Temperature control vaping uses sub ohm atomizer coils. But instead of setting the wattage, the user instead selects a vaping temperature. Most modern sub-ohm vape mods come with a temperature control option. This is usually denoted as a TC mod.

Why is sub ohm vaping better?

Think of it in this way, the less resistance there is to something, the easier it is to overcome. In the case of sub ohm vaping, a lower resistance atomizer allows more current to pass through it. Increased current causes a metal element to heat faster. As a result, more e-liquid is more rapidly vaporized.

What is the most common sub ohm battery for a vape?

The most common sub-ohm box mod vape batteries are 18650s. There are also 20700, and 21700 but 18650s are the most commonly used.

What is the most important component of a sub ohm vape?

The most important components in sub-ohm vaping, on which the reliability and robustness of the entire unit depends, are the vape batteries. Therefore, it’s extremely important to comprehend the capabilities as well as the limitations of the batteries you’re using. Especially their discharge rate.

What happens if you vape with a sub ohm?

When you adopt the sub-ohm vaping style, you inhale massive amounts of vapor, thus ingesting more nicotine than usual. If you stick to regular e-liquid with highly concentrated nicotine, you will experience an unpleasant rush and a rough throat hit. To avoid such a situation, go for a vape juice with low levels of nicotine.

What is sub ohm vaping?

In a nutshell, sub-ohm vaping is a vaping style that relies on using an atomizer with a resistance level of below one Ohm to produce massive amounts of flavorsome clouds. This style usually attracts those who look for big vapor clouds, warmer drags, and increased vapor flavors. Think of the vaper who showcases vaping tricks while blowing out ...

What is the resistance rating of a vape mod?

What is VG in vape juice?

VG is known for accentuating the sweet taste of e-liquid and for producing luscious clouds of vapor, making it essential for cloud chasing. The general rule of thumb implies that an e-liquid should have a 70% VG / 30% PG split for sub-ohm vaping. Lucky for you, there many vape juices for clouds manufactured these days so it won’t be hard ...

What is Ohm's law?

Ohm’s law implies that with high voltage and low resistance, current passes through with ease. So, when a lower resistance atomizer (heating coil) is used at a higher power level, current can pass through it with minimum obstructions, thereby helping generate more vapor.

Do you need vape juice for sub ohm?

Therefore, you will need vape juices that have been specifically created to produce large amounts of vapor.

Is resistance important in vaping?

Resistance is not the only instrumental factor for sub-ohm vaping. The size of the airflow holes and its flexibility also play an important role in determining the success of this vaping style. Understandably, big air holes facilitate better airflow, allowing the coil and vapor to cool down. Vaping with hot vapor can be an extremely displeasing ...

Sub Ohm Vape Tanks

Next in the sub ohm vaping guide we will go over sub ohm vape tanks. A sub ohm tank is a type of tank made of four basic components:

How To Sub Ohm Vape

Adult tobacco consumers that are used to traditional tobacco products or standard style electronic cigarettes utilize MTL vaping. MTL stands for mouth to lung. In other words, the vapor is drawn into the mouth and then inhaled. Much the same inhalation style as smoking. Sub ohm vaping is different.

Temperature Control Vaping

Temperature control vaping is also a style that uses sub ohm atomizers and direct lung vaping style. Instead of setting the wattage, you set the temperature. The temperature range for vaping is usually anywhere from 200 F to 600 F, or 100 C to 300 C. The most frequent temperatures for vaping are 300 F to 420 F.

Sub Ohm Vape Juice

Of course, this is our favorite part of the sub ohm vaping guide. Sub ohm vape juice! Not all vape juice is suitable for sub ohm vaping. An e-liquid must have at least 70% VG content to be used to sub ohm vaping. To learn more about this, check out our tutorial on what is vape juice.

Sub-Ohm Vaping: The Basics

Ohms law refers to the current of an electronic device, in this case the atomizer. Ohm’s law divides the voltage difference by the current. This comes into play when trying to create a thicker and more intense vapor while utilizing a lower resistance atomizer. You will get a more warm, throaty vapor with a lower Ohm.

What is Sub-Ohm Vaping?

Before explaining what sub-ohm vaping means exactly, it's important to discuss what an ohm is. An ohm is a standard unit of measurement for determining the resistance or capacity of an object (in this case your vape's coils) to conduct current.

Sub-ohm Vaping VS Regular Vaping

One of the key selling points of sub-ohm vapes is the fact that it lets you pump large amounts of watts into your vape. The result is a lot more battery power and e-liquid used up. What you get out of it in return is a warmer, denser, more intense, and flavorful vapor.

Performance

Sub-ohm vapes are more flavorful and produce more vapor compared to high resistance vapes. Higher heat mass from the thicker wires allow the coils to vaporize a lot more e-liquid. This is why you get a big increase in flavor and vapor production.

WHAT IS SUB OHM VAPING?

Sub ohm vaping produces larger volumes of vapour, which require a specific type of kit. These kits are known as sub ohm vape kits. To support this type of kit, vapers are required to use an inhalation method known as Direct To Lung or DTL vaping. This method is different than how most people smoke a cigarette (although not all).

SHOULD I BE SUB OHM VAPING?

This is an important question, we’d never recommend a sub ohm kit to anyone who isn’t comfortable with the idea. Sub ohm vaping is for advanced vapers who have an understanding of how a vape kit works, and more importantly are going to be comfortable using a more advanced style of vape kit.

HOW DOES SUB OHM VAPING WORK?

As you probably already know, a coil is the metal heating element found in tanks and pods, they heat e-liquid turning it into an inhalable vapour. But what you might not have known, is that they don't all heat e-liquid at the same speed, or create the same amount of vapour. Both heating rate and vapour production are decided by a coil’s resistance.

IS SUB OHM VAPING SAFE?

Sub ohm vaping, like all types of vaping, is still considered 95% less harmful than smoking. There are no additional ingredients in the e-liquid (just generally more VG) or changes to how your body processes the vapour. It’s simply the case that there’s more vapour.

SUB OHM VAPE KITS

A kit is more than just the coil it uses, a sub ohm vape kit has a number of features to support the coil. It is these features that lead us to only recommend sub ohm kits to more experienced vapers.

WHAT E-LIQUID DO I NEED TO SUB OHM VAPE?

To experience sub ohm vaping to its full extent, you’re going to need an e-liquid that can create larger amounts of vapour. Thicker e-liquids are the best option, these are e-liquids that have a higher level of VG - 60% VG or higher to be precise.

PICK YOUR FIRST SUB OHM VAPE KIT

There are plenty of options when it comes to sub ohm vape kits. To help make picking easier, you can check out our guide on the best sub ohm kits.

What does sub-ohm mean?

To answer this, we need to understand resistance and its important role in vaping. Resistance, which is measured in Ohms (Ω), tells us how easy or difficult it is for electrical current to flow through any given component in a circuit.

How did sub-ohm vaping start?

In the early days of vaping, it was common for coils to measure anywhere between 1.5Ω and 3.0Ω since they were designed for extremely low power output, tight airflow, and high nicotine strength e-liquids.

Sub-ohm has become a less relevant term in vaping

Although Sub-ohm is still a commonly used term in the vaping industry, it’s not as relevant as it once was. This is primarily due to advancements in coil design, which mean that resistance is no longer the only indicator of a coil’s capabilities or intended use.

What are the benefits of sub-ohm vaping?

The properties of sub-ohm/DL/RDL coils allow them to produce a totally different vaping experience, which can be summarised in three key points.

What are the disadvantages of sub-ohm vaping?

Although the benefits of sub-ohm vaping are important to many people, there are some disadvantages to be aware of.

Which products are suitable for sub-ohm vaping?

You will need to choose a suitable atomiser and device if you want to try sub-ohm vaping. Innokin offers a wide range of sub-ohm capable devices, so you can have a great experience without compromising on build quality, ease of use or affordability.

What kind of e-liquid is suitable for sub-ohm vaping?

Since sub-ohm/DL/RDL vaping operates at higher power levels, you’ll need an e-liquid that is suitably formulated for larger coils, lower throat hits and big clouds of vapour.

I have a Joyetech Evic Vt with a 0.2 Ni-coil, been on 6mg for a week. The problem is I go through a lot of juice! I tried 12mg out today and after work my tank is still almost full and with the 6mg I'd be close to empty (Sounds Great). I don't know if 12mg is to much, I start to feel dizzy vaping it but I don't vape nearly as often.

I often have a 18mg dual coil subohm tank handy for those times when the 3,6,9 or 12mg tanks just won't cut it.

That formula is a bit suspect. According to it I'm at 666 wattmillgrams.

I was using a lot of 3mg juice so I jumped up to 6mg. I only subohm. I have cut way back on the amount of fluid I am using each day (from around 10 ml's to 4-5 ml's). I really wanted to cut back on amount of chemicals inhaled, so since I am now vaping a lot less, it's working out well for me.

I've been smoking a long time. I vaped for two years on a Kanger Evod, the first one. I smoked one cig and it got me hooked again. I smoked two packs a day for about a year. Now I have the Evic Vt. The first Evod, juice lasted so long.. With the Evic it's going fast but I love the throat hit. I'm cig free again for a week.
