I've rented from Enterprise a couple of times back when I still smoked. I smoked in the car and nothing was ever said, so vaping shouldn't be an issue as it won't leave a stink like cigarettes did.

I really don't know how they would find out unless there are cameras mounted in the car. Vaping doesn't leave nearly the odor smoking does and it's generally a lot more pleasant when it does leave a trace or two. Just don't vape so much that the windshield films up.

It's only illegal if you get caught! I'm not allowed to smoke in my semi truck for work by policy but I vape in it for 10+ hours per day and haven't heard a word about it.
