I don't think you'd be actually inhaling any "particles" but there might be some smoke-like carbon or something in a burnt hit, but how many times does that happen? When you smoke a cigarette you take a "burnt" hit with every puff. If you get a burnt hit on you PV you stop and fix the problem, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't think we get any wick particles from burnt hits. I think it's smoke from overheating juice or cotton. Neither silica or steel burn, so its got to be the juice. I do try to avoid burnt hits as much as possible and fix whatever is causing them as soon as I notice it.

i have one juice that sometimes tastes burnt, other times doesnt. i think it may depend on the pg/vg mix, how well its wicking, even thickness and color of the juice. but hey, one or two burnt hits arent as bad as you know, a cig, hehe.

Wood smoke is carcinogenic so I imagine most smoke is. We still sit around campfires. We still wade into the kitchen when we've burned the toast or the grill pan is on fire. As a kid I used to burn Airfix models; polystyrene fumes are highly toxic. IMHO, a little smoke from burning wick or liquid is not going to harm you more than those.
