How to Prevent Vape Juice From Getting Dark in the Vape Tank?

While you can’t prevent your e-juice from becoming dark entirely, there are things you can do to slow down the process:

1. Low Battery

The first thing to check when you stop getting the desired flavor from your vape is your device’s batteries.

2. Cartridge

If you’re using a vape with a cartridge, this could be a sign that it’s time to swap out for a fresh one. Your device may be pulling just enough leftover liquid to give you a vapor cloud, but you definitely won’t be getting the robust flavor of a full, or even half-full, cartridge.

3. Atomizers

If you haven’t swapped out your atomizer lately, it might be time to do so. As you fill your tank and vape it down to zero again and again, small amounts of residue build up on your coil. This can cause the coil to heat poorly or unevenly. Sure, you will still get some vapor with continued use, but you definitely won’t enjoy the taste.

4. Adjusting Your Device

After checking for any parts that may have worn out, it’s time to try adjusting your device. Some flavors perform best in drip atomizers, while others do well in tanks. Adjusting your wattage upward may bring out flavors that were missing at first.

5. Steeping Your Liquid

On the less technical side of things, it could be that your liquid needs some time to steep before you vape it. The need to steep e-liquids is often a result of manufacturers shipping the products out immediately after mixing without letting them settle first.

I have this awesome banana pudding juice that is light yellow. After vaping for a day, it has turned a dark brown. Should i be concerned?

Did you leave it somewhere in the heat or light? That's normally what causes nicotine to change color like that. It's fine, it's just the normal properties of nicotine.

OldDragon Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

Looks normal to me. Juice will generally get darker with age. Also it comes mainly from the wick, as it heats it gets a dark area in the coil, as new juice comes in it bleeds out into the rest of the juice and turns it darker. As long as it doesn't taste burnt, just add more juice.

I'm more interested in *IF* these natural type food colors are safe to vape or are they going to cause more damage than their worth.

Bebop

Enamel paint is a great idea. Like those auto touch up paints. I bet they would last a while

kitsune

I don't know that there is any data to support or deny safety of any food coloring. Then again, the flavorings are not intended for vaping either.

Uma

I vape such a variety of flavors, even non-flavored throughout the day, week, that I don't really worry myself over it. I've got one flavor that is colored up a real pretty green, which I vape for about an hour a day, to change my palette up. (it's a really strong flavor!).

ooh this lends to asking a follow on question! Is booze safe to vape? A nice bourbon shouldn't hurt anybody!

Aquatroy

I got that some at first, but in my city this vaping movement has either exploded or I am just noticing it now. I never noticed Blue Trucks either till I bought a new Blue GMC Sierra in December and now every damn truck I see is blue lol. Same with PVs , they are everywhere it seems.
