E-juice viscosity has a defined and noticeable effect on how enjoyable a vape session can be, as not all e-juices nor devices are made equal. Exactly how thick an e-liquid can be, is related directly to the proportion of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) present in the mixture.

The higher the viscosity of an e-liquid, the worse the absorption properties get since it means that the liquid is too grimy to be absorbed the right way. Essentially, thicker juices can't carry flavor properly. But, they produce more vapor.

How Can an E-Liquid Be Diluted? E-juice dilution can be accomplished in two ways based on the VG/PG ratio: With higher VG e-juices, adding a drop or two of distilled water is the way to go, because high VG e-liquid is rather thick due to the viscosity of vegetable glycerin. Thinning it then with water is fine.

Why is syrup thicker than water?

Which is better, VG or pure vape?

High VG vape juices are better at producing thicker, better clouds. Pure VG is the best if you’re interested in cloud-chasing. However, if you take this route, you’re losing out on flavor. For better flavor, juices that are at least 50% PG tend to perform better.

What is the final ingredient in e-liquid?

Nicotine is the final and optional ingredient in an e-liquid. When you purchase a bottle of e-liquid, it is up to you to decide with how much (if any at all) nicotine will the liquid be diluted. Both naturally and synthetically produced types of nicotine are used.

Why does PG and VG separate?

PG and VG as explained earlier do not naturally mix together for a long period of time. If the bottle is left alone for a while, the PG and VG will start to separate. This is also the case if the e liquid gets too warm or too cold as PG and VG react differently at different temperatures. If you notice that your e liquid keeps separating, simply ensure that the bottles stay at room temperature and give it a good shake every now and again.

Carto? 50/50 may be too thick for a carto. I don't have much experience with cartos yet but I asked someone at Vapor Junction what a good ratio would be for their CE2 r4 cartos and he said he used 80/20 and he thought 70/30 might be good too?

guitardedmark Ultra Member ECF Veteran

for the most part 50/50 should work with a filler carto. For the ce2 it wont because ce2s suck! actually they dont at all. The wicking is terrible I use 50/50 for filler cartos (BOGE) and it works great!

I vape a lot that's higher VG than PG. Never have had a problem. Is it possible you're flooding your carto or atty?

LMP Senior Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

It's not the ratio of VG to PG that is the problem, it's how much it's thinned.

A little watter or alcohol would have improved the OP's vapor production quite a bit compared to what he is getting now!

guitardedmark Ultra Member ECF Veteran

water and alcohol never improve vapor production... It will thin the juice however.

Vaping Battery Safety

There have been many cases of mods exploding in user’s face, causing some severe injuries. This is often caused by an amateur cloud chasers not understanding their device. Never leave your battery charging unattended. Unattended batteries can end up causing your battery to explode or catch fire. An overcharged cell can have the same results.

Getting Huge Vape Clouds

The correct airflow will contribute to making your vape clouds bigger. If there isn’t enough airflow coming into the device, it can lead to overheating. If there is too much airflow to your mod, it will also affect how big your vapor clouds can be.

How to Make Vape Juice THICKER

Your choice in Mech Sauce e-liquid is another crucial part of creating the biggest clouds. E-liquid is made up of a combination of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), flavoring, and nicotine (though many e-liquids are nicotine-free). The correct mix of PG and VG will allow you to create massive clouds without having a harsh throat hit.

Getting the Best Mod for Huge Vape Clouds

The mod that you use is another important part of cloud chasing. You will want to find a mod that offers a high-quality, low resistance coil. An improperly made mod can overheat, explode, or even catch fire.

Best Vaping Technique for Vape Clouds

Your technique is an incredibly important aspect of huge cloud creation. Those with the biggest lung capacity will have an easier time creating huge clouds of vapor. When you exhale, exhale slowly to make your clouds appear bigger, thanks to slower dispersion.

ABSORBENT WICKING MATERIALS

Wicking is another critical aspect of cloud chasing. Inside of the atomizer, an absorbent wick helps your e-liquid get to the vaporizing coil. A wick that is more absorbent will help your juice reach the coil quicker, as well as allowing for a good amount of e-liquid to remain near the coil.

BUILDING YOUR OWN VAPE CLOUD DEVICE

Many cloud chasers choose to make their own devices. By using low-resistance coils and having the perfect airflow, you will create much larger vape clouds. There is no single best option when it comes to building your MOD, coils, or RDA/RBA, so you will have to experiment with it to find the perfect cloud chasing device.
