I've noticed the same thing in my larger tanks, especially when I vape them halfway and re-fill several times. Like Tam said, the liquid gets noticeably darker and you get that "spicy" flavor to it. At first it's a pretty good taste, but after a few more re-fills, it requires dumping and cleaning.

I got a bunch of The Standard Vape e-juices ranging from 12 to 18 mg. When I exhale I get a really spicy/burning sensation especially through the nose. Feels like I snorted a small amount of black pepper. It's really not enjoyable and nothing like a cigarette that I'm craving.

I get a peppery taste and/or burning in my throat from the nic in some juices. For me, it doesn't always correspond to the amount of nic, sometimes it's the vendor. There are also some flavors I get burning from.
