Some people just can't handle all the "steam" or thick vapor from high wattage and vg, feels too "thick" going down the throat. A lot of the time, adjusting to a new mixture can caught some gagging and coughing. Also, nicotine content plays a key role in the mixture. The higher the nicotine, the better the chances for adverse reactions.
Why do I keep gagging when I vape?
With your first vape, instead of pressing the fire button for the entire inhale, pulse it off and on during the puff. Experiment with how short/long the pulses are. I'm guessing that the gush of warm vapor is triggering your gag reflex when it hits the back of your throat.

Not that that’s a bad thing in itself (apart from the nausea and possible mess you have to clean up if you’re going ‘all the way’) but because its a clear indication that Nicotine is self-regulating.

I'm guessing that the gush of warm vapor is triggering your gag reflex when it hits the back of your throat. "Pulsing" the fire button will allow you to inhale some cooler ambient air along with the warmer vapor and the mix may alleviate the gagging response.

That does seem extreme. Have you tried switching up juice at all? Would ask what wicking material you're using but you have a nautilus so I assume you're using their heads. When it happens is it because of a bad taste? Or does it just feel like a reaction from your body? Not really enough info in the op to make any kind of diagnosis

Try a new juice. Maybe Halo has added something new to their juices that you aren't aware of. Try a new juice vendor.

Just my 2 cents, but it could be because your throat might be a bit dried out. I don't gag, but if my throat's dry when I vape, my uvula (dangly little ball in the back of the throat) gets stuck and makes it hard to swallow. Try sipping water while vaping and see if that helps.

Probably not vaping. Probably some type of flavour. Overdosing on nicotine seems like a silly assumption as it takes a whole lot of nicotine, a lot more than reasonable, to OD. If you smoked and never had a reaction to nicotine, I really don’t think that’s where the issue lies.

With vaping, if you run at too low wattage or with thin juice in sub-ohm tanks, you can literally be drinking e-liquid. If you are swallowing this juice, I can imagine experiencing nausea.
