I agree with erratum its most likely a priming issue. The juice probably didn't fully wick before you took your first hit.

Now, I am getting no vapor and a horrible taste. I don't have variable voltage, so that isnt an issue. What do I do to prime a coil? (i have one left til I get my new vape, so don't want to waste it...or have to drive 40 miles to get more...out in bfe).

To prime a new evod head put a drop of two down the center tube of the head, then put a drop of two on each exposed part of the wick. Then install head into base, fill tank, let sit for a few minutes, then take several primer puffs ( inhales without pressing fire button).
