Check the Battery. A vaping device's battery is often the main reason why there's no flavor from a vape. Just because your e-juice is producing big, thick clouds doesn't mean that your battery is full or functioning optimally. It may lack the necessary power for your vape to release that mouth-watering flavor.May 12, 2021

Why is vaping tastes like metal or bad?

Your vape can taste like metal if wire coil segments become worn due to overuse. Metallic flavours also arise if redundant untrimmed RTA coil “legs” are left untrimmed. Using TC modes with Kanthal or Nichrome coils, or acidic vape juices which corrode coils can also generate unwanted metal flavours.

Why does my vape pop and spit?

Why does my vape crackle Spitting, or spitback, is the name for the occasional super-hot droplets of e-liquid that shoot in your mouth when you’re vaping. If you watch an RDA coil firing, you can sometimes see this happening, usually accompanied by popping sounds.

Why can't I taste the flavor in my vape?

Vaping can sometimes cause a dry mouth simply by requiring so much mouth breathing (inhaling a vape), which can dry up saliva. When we don't have enough saliva, the ability to taste is almost non-existent. Flavor fatigue is another culprit behind vape tongue resulting in you not tasting your e-juice.

How do I get more flavor from my vape?

How do you do it? It's similar to steeping tea to improve the flavour. The simplest method is to store your vape juice in a cool, dark spot for 2-3 weeks. Shake the bottle every now and then to speed up the process.

Can vape juice lose flavor?

Regular vaping can cause a side effect called vaper's tongue. It's a condition that causes you to lose some or all of your ability to taste the flavor of vape juice. Vapers experience this condition for as short as a few days up to a few weeks.

Can vaping damage your tongue?

Vape tongue could potentially affect your oral health; studies have found that vaping can lead to a variety of oral health problems, including lung inflammation and gastrointestinal disorders.

1. Low Battery

The first thing to check when you stop getting the desired flavor from your vape is your device’s batteries.

2. Cartridge

If you’re using a vape with a cartridge, this could be a sign that it’s time to swap out for a fresh one. Your device may be pulling just enough leftover liquid to give you a vapor cloud, but you definitely won’t be getting the robust flavor of a full, or even half-full, vape pod.

3. Atomizers

If you haven’t swapped out your atomizer lately, it might be time to do so. As you fill your tank and vape it down to zero again and again, small amounts of residue build up on your coil. This can cause the coil to heat poorly or unevenly. Sure, you will still get some vapor with continued use, but you definitely won’t enjoy the taste.

4. Adjusting Your Device

After checking for any parts that may have worn out, it’s time to try adjusting your device. Some flavors perform best in drip atomizers, while others do well in tanks. Adjusting your wattage upward may bring out flavors that were missing at first.

5. Steeping Your Liquid

On the less technical side of things, it could be that your liquid needs some time to steep before you vape it. The need to steep e-liquids is often a result of manufacturers shipping the products out immediately after mixing without letting them settle first.

Complimentary Flavours

This is something we all know about, but as new vapers it might be something we didn't think would affect the taste of our e-cigarette. What I'm talking about here is the same thing as brushing your teeth before having a cup of tea, or on the other side of the coin, having a glass of red wine with your steak.

Illness and Tiredness

When you have a cold, flu or aren't feeling 100% for whatever reason, it will affect the taste of your vapour. It sounds fairly obvious as I'm typing it now, but it really did surprise me the first couple of times I experienced it and it can be quite dramatic.

Fresh Coils and Old Coils

I think most would agree that the best flavour you get is on the second or third fill of your e-cigarette device. From there on in it's a gradual downhill path, until it gets to the point where you start tasting a burnt dirty flavour or it just deteriorates to a simple lack of taste and vapour production.

Flavour Fatigue

I think flavour fatigue is the main reason for what people call 'Vapers Tongue', when vapers can't taste any flavour in their e-liquids. We are essentially bombarding our taste-buds with relatively strong flavours all day and sometimes I think we just need to give them a rest.

Why does vaping taste bad?

Reasons why your vape suddenly tastes bad. A common reason why your vape may suddenly taste bad is a new or damaged coil. Bad flavours can also happen because of poorly-packed or worn-out wicking and poor device air circulation. Likewise, sudden unwanted tastes may be caused by poor vape device maintenance, unsuitable e liquids or heavy vaping.

Why does vape juice taste burnt?

Your vape can taste burnt because of accumulated residue on your coil, or because coil or wicking have expired. It can also happen because vape juice is too VG-heavy. Other reasons for burnt tastes include not priming a new coil, vaping at high power, or low juice levels.

How to get rid of vape taste?

Wash your vape device with hot water only – no detergent. Clean your vape device properly after switching away from strong floral or fruity flavours to remove residual soap tastes. Clean your tongue and drink some water to reduce confusing effects of vaper’s tongue on your sense of taste. 4. Vape tastes wet.

What are some examples of weird vapes?

Flavours like plastic, metal or soap are typical examples of weird tastes that your vape device may be producing. Some weird flavours can taste burnt, too, and vice-versa, but the strange tastes are not always as easy to spot. Let’s look at each in turn: Metal taste. Plastic taste. Soapy taste.

Why does my vape taste metallic?

1. Metallic tastes. When your vape tastes like metal, you’ll know because it may leave a weird aftertaste, too. Brand new disposable coils or RTA coils often taste a bit metallic anyway for a while, though thankfully, the tang doesn’t tend to last.

Why does my vape have burnt flavours?

So, thicker vape liquids may create burnt flavours in MTL devices because they flow too slowly, or because they leave burnt-tasting residues on lighter coils.

Can you wash a vape mouthpiece?

Also, not washing your mouthpiece or tank “chimney” means vape flavours from past sessions can build up and ruin new flavours you’re vaping. Sometimes, the best way to get rid of unwanted tastes from your vape device is simply to take everything apart, and soak and wash in hot soapy water. 6. The way you vape.

First I'll intro a bit.....I've been a smoker (analog I guess it's called now) for 30 years. Was pretty excited about vaping and have been giving it a try for about 7-8 weeks now. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to trying new things and buy everything right away. Lol

It appears to happen a lot to new vapers, although it can apparently happen to anyone. Search vaper's tongue and you'll find a lot of info about it.

You might want to consider DIY'ing your own e- juice. Sometimes mine has too much flavour so I just open the tank and add some more flavourless mix. Other times if I find I don't have enough flavour I just add a couple of more drops of concentrated flavouring.

Okay, so if you go back to cigs, you will continue having the problem most likely. You will continue having trouble tasting flavors. Around the 2-3 month mark it was flavorless to me too. That's when I started changing flavors regularly.

Sounds like a classic case of vaper's tongue to me. Make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water. Vaping can dehydrate you if you arent taking in enough water. It will pass. Now is a good time to vape those juices you bought and found that you didn't really care for. There is a good bit of information on the forums about vaper's tongue.

In order to keep from losing tastes, I use 3 or 4 different flavors Always. Not one flavor today, a different one tomorrow.. I mean like a drag off of one, a drag off another, etc.

agreed w/ what others have said. increase your water intake.. quite a bit... also mix up your flavors more. even when i did use tanks i rarely filled any up.. i like to rotate flavors constantly.
