Why does my vape juice taste bad after a while?

Usually, if the battery is the culprit, you should notice the flavor dropping off a little at a time as it discharges. This is because as the batteries drain, they become less efficient at vaporizing the PG that carries the flavor in your juice.

Is it normal for a vape to have no flavor?

It depends. There are many reasons why you may be experiencing a vape with no flavor. Some of them are related to your device, but another type of reaction related to taste fatigue could also be the issue. Here are some ways to identify the problem and fix it.

Why does vaping make your tongue smell?

But that’s not the only cause of vaper’s tongue. Dehydration can also make things taste less intense than normal. It’s a known fact that vapor absorbs moisture, and guess what, your mouth is a very moist place.

Your e-liquid is too heavy E-liquid that’s too thick can flow sluggishly in some vape devices, resulting in poor vaporisation, dull flavours, or even no flavour at all. You won’t get more than a smidgen of flavour from your vape liquid if it runs too slowly in your device.

Why can't I taste vape liquid?

If VG is above 50%, your vape liquid may be too thick to generate a strong flavour in your device. Try also tilting your vape liquid bottle, and see how quickly the liquid moves. If it it’s really sluggish, this could be why you can’t taste much of whatever flavours you’re vaping.

Prime your vape coil properly for more flavour. Priming new disposable coils on first use will mean the wicking material will get a better chance to absorb more vape liquid flavour from your e liquid. Why is my vape liquid so heavy?

What happens when you attach a new coil to a vape?

Normally, when you attach a new coil, the cotton inside it will draw up e-liquid from the tank after a while. But if you start vaping as soon as you’ve attached the new coil, liquid in your tank won’t have time to reach the heating element. And this gives you a flavourless – or weird-tasting vape as a result.

Complimentary Flavours

This is something we all know about, but as new vapers it might be something we didn't think would affect the taste of our e-cigarette. What I'm talking about here is the same thing as brushing your teeth before having a cup of tea, or on the other side of the coin, having a glass of red wine with your steak.

Illness and Tiredness

When you have a cold, flu or aren't feeling 100% for whatever reason, it will affect the taste of your vapour. It sounds fairly obvious as I'm typing it now, but it really did surprise me the first couple of times I experienced it and it can be quite dramatic.

Fresh Coils and Old Coils

I think most would agree that the best flavour you get is on the second or third fill of your e-cigarette device. From there on in it's a gradual downhill path, until it gets to the point where you start tasting a burnt dirty flavour or it just deteriorates to a simple lack of taste and vapour production.

Flavour Fatigue

I think flavour fatigue is the main reason for what people call 'Vapers Tongue', when vapers can't taste any flavour in their e-liquids. We are essentially bombarding our taste-buds with relatively strong flavours all day and sometimes I think we just need to give them a rest.

How Can We Stop Our Coils From Burning Out?

Unfortunately, all coils will eventually burn out. Though you can't stave off the certainty of entropy, there are a few steps you can follow to stretch the life of your coils as much as possible. Remember, you need to regularly replace your coils (or eventually replace your vape tank) regardless of whether you follow these steps!

Refill Regularly

As we have mentioned, the absolute best thing you can do to avoid getting burnt hits is to regularly refill your vape juice tank. Many tanks are designed specifically for easy refilling, which may be attractive if you hate the idea of having to periodically clean up vape juice messes.

I'm so frustrated I could scream... Last night I saw a YouTube video about rewicking your coils with cotton. It boasted the improvement in flavor, etc... And I have extra coils so I tried. What followed was less than satisfying. I used cotton balls advertised as pure 100% cotton. Bought them especially for this.

If you are getting vapor but just can't taste it anymore it sounds like vapers tongue for sure.

Clean your tank, put a fresh coil in and fill it with a different flavor. That should help. I get on kicks where I'll vape a single flavor for days in a row and suddenly the taste gets either nasty or muted. I try to not over do it on a single flavor but some...are just so good!
