Why do my ohms keep going down?

Resistance of your coil may go up or down due to coil buildup, but usually not by . 5Ω. Sounds more like inaccurate readings than an actual resistance change. Make sure your coil is seated properly in its base and do not over tighten your topper onto the battery--just enough to make electrical contact.Mar 13, 2015

Why does my coil burn out in a day?

Sub-ohm coils heat up much quicker than those with a higher resistance. If your e-liquid has a thinner consistency then the atomizer head can vaporize it too quickly, causing premature burning.

What is Ohms law?

Put simply, Ohms law is used to determine current, voltage and resistance in any circuit. Your personal vaporizer is, indeed, a circuit unto itself and your device probably has variable settings that will allow you to adjust each of these aspects individually.

What is voltage in electrical?

Voltage is actually a measurement of the potential difference in energy between two points in your circuit. Some of today’s devices have a variable voltage setting, so it is important to understand how changing the voltage will change your overall performance in this equation. R is resistance, measured in ohms.

What does higher ohms mean?

Higher Ohms mean that larger vapour clouds can be produced while experiencing richer flavours from your liquid.

What is an ohm?

Thanks for the feedback! When should I change my coil though? I talked to a friend who said he used the same one for over a month.

I've had coils last 6 weeks or more, but I check them on a ohm reader every couple of days. Once they climb in resistance above what I want my target resistance to be, its time to wrap a new coil.

Thanks for all the good info! One last Noobie question. It doesn't necessarily hurt anything when my resistances get higher, it just means more voltage is needed to get a certain power output right?

I use gplat wire and to clean my coils I just heat them and dunk the rda in water (not while firing) and the gunk falls right off I don't know if this will work with other materials like kanthal.

Millah Senior Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

Of course it works with Kanthal. All you're doing is burning off the gunk, which resistance wire can do (otherwise how would it vape?).

After about a week, sometimes a few days, my coil will go up in resistance from about 1.7 ohms to 2.0-2.1 ohms. Is this normal, should I change it? Why does this happen. I'm using a Kayfun lite plus v2. Thanks!

Hallo, so I own a Wismec RX Gen 3 Dual battery version, and the problem is that my mod is reading wrong ohm's with my SMOK Prince tank and Freemax Fireluke 2 tank. Whenever I put my Drop Dead RDA on it is reading correctly at 0.2 ohms.

nwhornet Legend

If the mod reads the Drop Dead right the issue is with the tanks. Ensure the 510 pin is clean & hasn't been pushed back into the attie too far. The connection between coil & tank should also be checked. Not certain on the mod itself but if it has the option to lock the resistance do it.
