If it does short, you'll know it because the battery will either rip itself open or explode violently. Both failures can cause death or serious injury. No it will not work when it is shorted.
Does battery matter in a mech mod?
Technically speaking, it really doesn't matter in a mech mod which way the battery is installed... Your coil isn't polarity sensitive like an IC in a circuit is... However, there can be safety concerns... For example, if the can of the battery is negative and the wrapper gets damaged and is allowed to contact the side of your tube, if the pin of the 510 is on the postive then you've just completed the circuit and the mod will "autofire" until the battery is removed... On the other hand, if it's flipped the other way around then both sides of the coil are in contact with the negative side of the battery and it won't fire... That might seem like a safer alternative, except that when you try to fire it, instead of firing the coil you're going to have a DIRECT and very low resistance short directly between the positive and negative... It's going to go bad very quickly... Especially if the arc created "welds" the switch shut which I've heard of happening before as well...
What to do if your vape battery is cut?
If there is a cut, knick, or any other sort of damage to your vaping battery’s wrapper, I recommend buying a new battery, especially if you like the idea of keeping your hands and fingers. There are some vapers who prefer re-wrapping their damaged batteries. If you are an experienced vaper and feel comfortable re-wrapping your batteries that is fine as well, but please be very careful. Be sure to keep battery wrappers clean, and when you’re not using a battery, be sure to store it in a vape battery case.

The HoG V2 is also made much better, it's a tank that's built to last. HoG V2 > HoG V3 > HoG V1, any day. The V2 is by far the king of the HoGs and likely the king of all 18650 parallel series boxes. The HoG V1 sucked ass though. DON'T GET ME WRONG, the V3 is still a damned fine mod and I love it.
Why do batteries sag less?
The reason for this is because due to the parallel circuit splitting the load , there's less strain on the cells which NOT only means you can rock out with some more powerful builds , but also that the batteries sag less internally which leads to a higher output voltage. Last edited: Mar 13, 2017.
