I'm currently using a .22ohm alien coil on my GeekVape Athena mech kit. I'm using a single coil setup with open airflow and a 70/30 juice . The battery is a hOHMlife 18650 rated for 22.1A CDR. I am using the RDA that came with the mod and when I squonk/drip I get a lot of hot spitback at the start.

What does a lower charging amperage mean?
As many others have previously stated lower charging amperage means less strain on the battery which in return prolongs battery life. Below .5A there is such a minor difference in battery temperature while charging that I'm not sure the extension of the batteries lifespan justifies the extended charging time. Is it safe to charge a battery at 1.5A?
It would be safe but the battery will have a longer life if you charge at the lower end of that 1.5A-4A range as that lowers the temperature the battery reaches during charging. I'm thinking that 1.5A is the "standard" rate and 4A is what is often called the "fast" charge rate by battery manufacturers.

Does the 18500 charger heat up?
According to the test it terminates AAA batteries a little early, but that is actually safer than overcharging, so it’s not really an issue. The charger doesn't heat up during charging either, and it only costs $10.
Does a DC charger have a USB port?
