I've heard that it's because the vaping related items that are being cloned aren't patented, and that patent/copyright laws are pretty much nonexistent in China (which is where the majority of vaping related items are made). Don't take my word for it though, as I'm just going off what I've heard.

There's quite a debate about clones. Lots of different views on the subject. Here's my take on it. So the following is all personal opinion.

Look at the cereal section of the grocery store. You'll find generic brands of everything, cheaper and more constantly in stock. They are the same cereal with a different package and name. same thing happens with tools, toys, on and on. The only real difference in the case of mod clones is that the companies tend to clone the thing entirely.

Not sure about ecig clones, but for other things are the market the company that makes the off brand of things is usually owned by the original maker. so either way they are getting their money.

As long as they aren't trying to pass them as authentic, then it isn't that big of a deal. In many cases it doesn't hurt the makers of the originals at all, because they only plan on making a finite amount or are only capable of making a finite amount, and they still sell them all anyway.

At one point, cost was a factor and mechanical mods and rebuildables (RDA, RBA's) was just tiny segment for the hobbyist types and folks drawn to shiny objects... I've now come to the conclusion that it's more the explosive market dynamics that are driving the "clone" market now.

New to vaping and the forum. I recently bought a kanger protank 3 mini and a vision spinner 2 battery from a local vape shop without knowing any better. After getting it home and doing some research on the brands I noticed they were both clones.

Clone attys are fine , I would stay away from clone regulated mods and batteries , that is fake batteries .

best mod for the money reall and these are mods with built in bats and all are very reliable .

Clone attys are often fine. Clone mods/batteries can be a crapshoot. Some are great and some are garbage. On the ego batteries, I would buy authentic. The clones often die quickly or worse, explode during charging.

I do plan on getting an authentic battery, I did not buy either clone intentionally.

After going through ego after ego, my final take on those, was to buy something, battery wise that was of quality. The price is almost always worth it for the power source to keep you off the cigs.

I'm interested in knowing if you've successfully duplicated your favorite juice? If yes, I'd love to know how you did it. Did it take multiple iterations to get it right and have you successfully cloned your clone?

I've "successfully" managed to duplicate a couple of my favorite e-liquid recipes to my satisfaction lol.

Thinking further on this, I thought there is another thing you can bear in mind and take into consideration...

I vaped mostly Hangsen tobacco flavor juices when I bought them from Vendors. It was easy to find those flavors in concentrate form from several suppliers. I also like Flavourart concentrates.

I've done clones of some of my favorite retail vapes that have come very close but to be honest in my attempts to do this I've also come up with many I like much better then the original retail versions. How it's done is mostly by trial and error and searching the forum for post from others that have attempted the same clones.

Do you realize that wotofo a- mod is primarily a Chinese clone manufacturer and has only recently started to manufacture some cheap authentic devices at their cloning facilities?

DaveSignal Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

speaking of 510 openings, I bought a Mephisto v2 back in May through the classifieds on these forums.

I have many clones. And many authentic devices too. There are certain things that I only want a clone. And some things that I want authentic. But I have never 'tried out a product' as a clone and then bought the authentic because I liked the clone.

If you do your research on clones you can get fantastic quality ones, i would never buy an authentic RDA as i don't see the value and the cloned RDA's i have received are truly outstanding but not all clones are. Problem is many people don't do research and buy a bad clone than rip clones as sucking for the rest of their lives lol.

I recently bought a Flash-e-vapor clone that was highly rated. It was a V2 version that I got mostly for certain parts that came with it. I already had a genuine so I got to compare.

I have an EHPro derringer clone that I got for 9.99 shipped. Compared it to a real one at a local Vape shop and the employee was amazed. He got confused and handed me the $85 real one and started to put mine back in the case. I had to get him to open it up and see that it was the one with a coil and wick in it. They were that close.
