What is the best DAB temperature?

Dab temperature, like most things in vaping, is a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer low to mid-temperature dabs, while others like high-temperature dabs. Most Extract vaporizers do not show the exact temperature, or allow for precise +/-1°F control. Instead, they have four or five preset temperatures.

Why do vapers like low temperature dabbing?

Even veteran vapers like low temperature dabbing because of the stronger flavor and the lengthier high that it produces.

What is the best atomizer for low temp dabbing?

The quartz and ceramic coils are actually small basins rather than coils and they are the best atomizers for low temp dabbing. The reason is that they provide the strongest flavors and are the easiest to use. Quartz rod coils heat up quickly and produce big clouds, but that comes at the cost of flavor integrity.

What is high temperature dabbing and how does it work?

When a dab is heated at high temperatures, it is quickly vaporized and all the THC, cannabinoids, and terpenes in it are released in rapid succession, giving the user an intense high as they inhale. However, high temperature dabbing isn’t necessary to release all of the cannabinoids in the marijuana plant.

What is a low temp dabs?

Low-temps dabs are for people looking for the most flavorful experience. With reduced temperatures and a cooler nail surface, you’re able to preserve the flavors and terpenes in your dabs better.

What temperature do dabs melt?

Concentrates can melt at as little as 350°F, and from the graph above you can see that most terpenes and cannabinoids have a boiling point under 400°F, but low-temp dabs need to be a little higher than that and are generally in the 400-450°F range. For example, the Puffco Peak’s lowest setting is 450°F.

Why do people dab?

People dab because of their strong flavors and smells, which come from terpenes, the flavor compounds of cannabis. Flavorful dabs are said to be “terpy,” and a great concentrate will carry the flavor and aroma of the original plant through the extraction process and into the final product when you dab. Terpenes are delicate and can scorch easily, ...

Why do people take hotter dabs?

Some people take much hotter dabs if they want stronger effects. And sometimes a hotter dab is needed for specific dabs: For example, crystalline THCA isolate is the chemical precursor to THC, and THCA in its isolated form is not intoxicating—it must convert to THC to gain euphoric properties.

How to make THCA isolate?

This process, known as decarboxylation, happens naturally over time as cannabis flower dries, but you can also make it happen to THCA isolate through dabbing. A low-temp dab can manage this chemical conversion, but a higher temperature will expedite it.

Do dabbers like low temperatures?

That being said, it really comes down to personal preference, as some dabbers like low temperatures for certain isolated compounds since the single compound will have a more specific vaporization point.

Why Low Temperature Dabs?

A precise answer to this question would be; to get a flavorful, effective, and healthier dabbing experience since too high temperatures can degrade or even burn away the terpenes and cannabinoids on your concentrate before they get to activate .

But it is a good thing to know that the heat temperature you apply in your dab will directly impact your smoking experience in terms of flavors, smells, and even effects as heat have a great influence on how cannabinoids and terpenes are vaporized and degraded before reaching your lips.

Can you experiment with different temperatures?

You can in fact, experiment with different temperatures between this range and thus find the temperature that best suits your needs or preferences.

What is the difference between a high temperature dabs and a low temperature dabs?

On the other hand, high-temperature dabs are meant to give dense vapors and a more intense effect.

What is the difference between dabbing at low temperatures and high temperatures?

The main difference between dabbing at low and high temperatures is the harshness and strength you are hit with. Higher temperatures will give you more vapor, but lower temperatures offer more flavor by preserving the terpenes.

Why is dabbing important?

Dabbing at the right temperature is essential if you want to enhance your smoking experience. However, very few dab users know that you can save many of your concentrates and taste more of the terpenes by controlling the temperature of e-nail or vape.

Why is dabbing safer?

What is a terp timer?

To put it simply, terp timers are temperature measuring devices that allow you to achieve the perfect dabbing temperature by just dialing it in when you are concentrating your cannabis. Once it reaches the temperature, a ‘beep’ sound allows you stop in time.

Why do you dab at lower temperatures?

One of the biggest advantages of using lower temperatures when dabbing is the ability to get the most out of your concentrates. This method is called a cold-start dab, in which users will load their concentrate of choice onto the nail before heating it.

How does dabbing work?

Let’s start with an overview: having a basic understanding of how dabbing works will help understand why temperature levels are so important. Concentrates are made by extracting cannabinoids from the plant, and their effects are activated when heated convectively instead of conductively. As explained in Hemper, “convective heating is healthier, smoother, and more effective because it doesn’t ‘burn off’ and waste the essential and active ingredients in the concentrate.” Convective heating also allows you to control the temperatures at which you heat your concentrates – which is why so many frequent dabbers have turned to using an enail instead of the classic, yet dated, torching method.

What are some examples of terpenes?

Different terpenes will be more noticeable at different temperatures, for example: Humulene ( 435°F): Flavors of woody earthiness will act as anti-inflammatory agents and help with appetite suppression and pain. 600°F – 900°F (315°C – 482°C): Users who dab in this range will see their concentrates combust quickly and produce thick, smoky clouds upon vaporizing. Note that much of the unique flavors will be lost at these temperatures as the terpenes will be more burnt off.

What temperature to vaporize terpenes?

315°F – 450°F (15 7°C – 232°C): A perfect place for low-temperature dabbing, this temperature range vaporizes terpene profiles without burning them, allowing for the best possible flavor as originally intended by the extraction process.

What are terpenes in cannabis?

Terpenes are the flavor and scent molecules found in and extracted from the crystal-like trichomes on cannabis plants and are responsible for creating varying flavor profiles and effects. To get the most out of the terpene profiles and maximize their flavor nuance and complexity, finding the right temperature for dabbing is incredibly important.

What temperature should a dab be?

According to High Times, a blood-red glow indicates a dab temperature of 1075°F, while a faint-red glow indicates 930°F.

What is the difference between high temp and low temp dabs?

How Does Dabbing Work?

Dabbing requires heating a nail, and touching — or dabbing — the concentrate onto it, rather than placing it directly under a flame as one would with dry herbs. When concentrates make contact with the hot surface, they burn into a potent smoke.

Why is dabbing bad for your nails?

Dabbing with a lower temperature than that can result in the nail not being hot enough to heat the concentrate, causing it to go to waste by pooling up on the nail, bubbling and dissipating. Dabbing at low-temperatures is beneficial for a variety of reasons.

How should the temperature of an e-nail be adjusted?

The temperature of your e-nail or vaporizer should adjust based on a couple of factors, being how much vapor you want to consum, the type of cannabis concentrate, and what type of materials you are using to consume the concentrate.

What is high temp dabs?

High-temp dabs combust quickly and provide thick, smoky clouds of vape. Some feel that high-temp dabs provide the most bang for your buck, as it doesn’t leave any waste and the dense clouds provide a fast and efficient high. This really comes down to user preference, but if you prefer high THC content over flavor, then dabbing at higher temps might be right for you.

What temperature do terpenes need to be to burn?

So, if you want to maintain that flavor profile, you have to be careful with your dab temperatures. Most terpenes have a relatively low boiling point somewhere between 250° and 400°, making it easy to torch your dab and be left with a lung full of burnt toke.

Can you torch a dab?

A common saying for those who prefer to taste the full flavor profile is that you have to waste it to taste it. Which means you can’t torch the dab into a pile of ashes. Generally, some sticky resin will still be left after a low temp dab, but that doesn’t necessarily mean a less potent high. This method can produce a rewarding high without compromising flavor thanks to the entourage effect of slowly releasing terpenes and other compounds with THC.

Is vaping harmful at 750°C?

As a note, we do not advise vaping at temperatures higher than 750, as initial research has shown that this can be harmful. High temperatures can lead to toxic degradation, which means that the plant starts degrading in a way that causes chemical reactions that could be harmful to ingest. The same study showed that no such chemicals were released when dabbing under 750°.

First Look

The device itself is pretty bare bones, as mentioned before it almost looks like the Smok Alien 220W. The finish of the KAOS is a sleek matte black with a silver accent around the screens and buttons, which I thought looked okay if you are more into a neutral look.

Digging Deep

This mod is like most it has a handful of features that are similar to most other mods; however when it came to the display it kind of stands out. It sports a color display which is pretty rare to see in this type of mod. That is just one of the features this device has.

How to Keep the KAOS Clean

Keeping the KAOS clean is easy, first remove the batteries and whichever tank you are using. On our mod we had the Sigelei Meteor RDTA, some juice may get under your tank so removing it for cleaning is a good idea.

Meteor RDTA Review: Choosing the Right Partner

As the KAOS Spectrum does not come with a tank of its own, I decided to choose another Sigelei product. The Meteor RDTA (which I think is the tank they should’ve included with the Spectrum) is one I had kicking around, so I thought I would give it a go with the mod. I will give a quick review on what I thought about the two bundled together.

Sigelei KAOS Spectrum and Meteor RDTA Performance

Once I had everything set up with the KAOS and the Meteor, it was smooth sailing my initial thought was almost like this thing was to much work. I have to say after getting into it the combo really works, and the flavor was surprisingly good.

Conclusion

Just some parting words about the Sigelei KAOS Spectrum and the Meteor; I really enjoyed the simplicity of the mod even though I did not come with a tank. I luckily had the (should be) partner tank to go with it, so I feel that I got the whole experience that Sigelei was going for with this mod.

Welcome. The mod is regulated to keep the set wattage no matter what the battery level is. Are you using Temp Control?

stols001 Moved On ECF Veteran

It may be a battery issue and/or you may be becoming more sensitive to noticing changes in your vape. Over time, battery usefulness is going to decrease. You may want to buy some more batteries and see if that corrects the problem.

I’ve had my vape for a few months now, I love it aside from when the battery hits 60 or 50%, the puff hit strength significantly decreases.. not sure if it’s a battery problem or if that’s just how the mod is..

Are you still under warranty? Might be worth pursuing if you are. Good luck,

I believe yo are using the wrong batteries. Yes you can run those batteries at that wattage but you are maxed out so are going to get short life out of them. I would go with some Sony vtc5 a or look at mooch's chart and get 25 amp batteries.

The highest demand on a battery is at full discharge so it only makes sense that underrated batteries would struggle more and more as they discharge.

Eskie ECF Guru Verified Member ECF Veteran

One problem with performance may be battery sag when under load. Typically, in a regulated mod, the "power" should not fall off as the battery discharges. If the batteries can't keep up, the mod may throttle power down as the power demand cannot be met.
