How long can you keep cotton vape juice?

Dec 11, 2015 · If you’re a fiend for new juice, change your cotton every few days. The reason why is simple. After mixing a bunch of different eliquids, the flavor will be gross quickly no matter what you drip. When going to a vape convention… fuhgetaboutit! You’re going to be juice drunk at a vape expo so re-wicking will need to happen every hour at the least.

When should you replace your vape Wick?

Feb 08, 2018 · I switched to kendo vape cotton gold edition, if I stick with one juice, which doesn't happen often, I would need to change every 9-13 days depending what it is. But since I change flavor/juices every tank/refill, I need to change cotton once a week. My coils on the other hand need barely clean up or need to be exchanged.

When Is It Time To Change Your Vape Wick?

Factors that will determine when you should get a new wick include the temperature your vape can produce, the juice you use and the material it is made of. Some people will notice the difference much earlier so it will also depend on your preferences and if you can notice variations in the taste.

Signs That Your Vape Wick Needs to Be Replaced

It doesn’t have to be a burnt taste, it may be something that you are not used to and you just notice that something isn’t right. Always follow the feeling because you will be right in these situations. Check the coil and swap with a new one and you won’t have any issues.

How to Replace the Vape Wick?

Before changing it, make sure it is clean and that there aren’t any leftovers on the vaporizer. You will need a pair of tweezers so you can take out the cotton you used and place a new one. Try not to damage the mod because you need to disassemble it to place the material. You will find out that the color is gray or black once you open the device.

What about Dry Herb Vapes?

The most important thing you should know if you are buying your first vaporizer is that dry herb types don’t use wicks because there isn’t any liquid. The heating element they use will degrade over time and that is why you can buy the whole component for replacement. It’s time to change it when the vapor quality is lower.

I have two Kayfun 3.1 EH Pro clones that I have set up with a 2.1 ohm micro coil and cotton wicking. They stay at home most of the time so Irun at most 4 ml of juice thru them weekly. How often should I change out thewicking and dry burn the coils.

Chadastrophic Senior Member

I probably go somewhere around 20-25ml before I pull the cotton and dryburn.

I would say it depends on the liquid and how hot you vape. I vape coffee liquids for the most part and usually run 5-6 ml before I do a dry burn and re-wick but my liquids are hard on wicks so ymmv.

I just got my first kayfun 2 days ago. I went through almost 8ml since and changed the cotton just now, mainly to see how easy it would be. I didn't have any burning taste or degradation of flavor at all except when I was trying to get the last few drops of juice out before opening it up.

Let the vape tell you. You'll notice a decrease in flavor, vape and wicking potential. A lot depends on the build, ohms of your coil, and watts vaped at. Most of my cotton wick builds I can get 1 to 3 weeks off of heavy vaping of 8 ml a day. Some I'll do on a weekly basis others can go 2-3 weeks.

I change mine when I start to notice a difference in flavor or vape quality. Cotton is cheap enough so change it as often as you want.

With my KFL+s I change every tank for dark gunky juices, and every 2 - 3 tanks for others.

How often should I change my vape coils?

What happens if you burn your vape coil?

A worn-out or burnt vape coil can cause dry hits, low vapor production, and weak flavored hits. In worst cases, it can even give a hideous mixed taste of different flavors when you switch e-juices. So, check your coils regularly and replace them when the situation demands it.

What is a vape coil?

The vape coil is an essential component of the vaping device, tasked with releasing flavorful, dense clouds. It usually consists of a wire and a wick and is mostly housed within the mod’s cartridge. The wick soaks up the e-juice and the coil, drawing power from the vape mod batteries, heats it to produce inhalable vapor.

Why is my vape leaking?

Leaking Vape Device. Using an old, worn-out coil can result in a leaking vape device. Of course, the leaks can be caused by other factors such as an overly filled tank, worn-out O-rings, or a wrongly filled e-juice. However, a worn-out coil is just as susceptible to causing the leaks.

Why does my vape make a gurgling sound?

However, do realize that the vape device usually produces a repulsive gurgling sound when the coil fails to perform its task properly. If the sound doesn’t fade away even after replacing the coil, it could be a sign that a bigger issue persists in your device. Simply put, a vaping device shouldn’t be making gurgling sounds.

I'm new to RBAs. Im using a Kangertech subtank, the regular sized one not the mini. How do I know when its time to change the cotton and coils. About how often do they last? How often do I change the coils? What happens to the coils over time that leads them to be changed? What changes happen to the cotton that leads it to be changed?

GeorgeF

As an RBA and RTA user I can say that with a diy coil you only have to really change the cotton regularly. Just slide the cotton out of the coil, dry burn the coil and rewick.

U know that u have to replace the cotton after the vapor starts to taste burnt even when soaked with juice. Usually with frequent use for me I have to replace cotton about every few days to each week or when I change flavors. Coils are a different story they take much longer to need replacing up to a month or two.

I get my coil red hot let off the fire button and quench it to get all the crap off.it makes the coil like new again

I've played around with this idea a little. I have an opinion about it I'd like to share mostly because I want to find out if I'm missing anything or if there is more I could learn about it. In general I believe the following to be true:

For me, the risk of something going wrong -- even with the best of plans and intentions -- isn't worth it. If I want a coil that's cleaner than just a dry burn, I just build a new coil. Wire is cheap. Hospital bills are not.

How long does a vape coil last?

The way you vape affects your coil’s longevity. If you are the type who chain vapes, expect your coil to not last long. But if you vape a couple of puffs every few hours, you might be able to milk the coil’s lifespan to a month or so.

Can VG e juice be used on coils?

Then there is the type of e-juice used. Some e-juice can gunk up a coil quickly , thereby reducing its lifespan. Pure VG can gunk up wicks and coils fairly quickly.
