Hey ECF, unfortunately I lost my vape a couple weeks ago and have been smoking cigarettes more than I would like to so I am on the market for a new mech mod. I was very close to pulling the trigger on the copper hades but I have begun to doubt the superiority of the 26650 battery.

I have a Hades clone and it really works good with my drippers because of the extra battery juice available from the Sony. I haven't really paid attention to battery life compared with my 18650s though. I don't like it with my KFL+ or Russian and especially not with my Aspire Nautilus as I get a lot of dry hits.

26650 battery technology is actually considerably further behind the curve compared to 18650 batteries. As far mechanical and sub ohm building go, 18650 is far and away the better choice.

I've got the Tobeco Hades V3 clone topped with a Tobeco Tobh 26650 clone as well as a Tobeco Kayfun Lite Plus 26650 clone and a Sigreen 26650 and these things rock. The battery life of the 26650 is great and as far as a big hitter, I'm really happy with any of the toppers on the Hades clone.

I think your focus at the moment is to get away from the smokes! Your choice between the 26650 or 18650 is dependent on whether you want functionality or you want something to play around with. Its going to cost less to get into an 18650 setup and you have far more choices at the moment in this format than you do in 26650 format.

I disagree in a sense with 18650 being cheaper. My first mechanical mod is a 26650, and it was cheaper at the local shop, but I agree options are more. For me, I hated the size of an 18650. In videos it looks big, but in person it felt like I was holding a sharpie. The best way I can compare the 2 on battery life is what the shop told me.
