I used mostly the Samsung 30Q which is also 3000mah. Read mooch's reports in the Battery and Chargers subforum.

Do you have a charger or use the usb? Could be your battery is really not charged.

Yeah I got some cheapo charger. but it says it charges as 4.2V so that should work right? I've tried using both. Is there any downsides to using the internal charging?

the lg browns if you can get them work well... I've got 8 on rotation between 5 kanger (3 kbox minis and 2 dripboxes) mods and we charge them all via an xtar charger. generally the batteries are only good for roughly 300- 350 recharges.. they don't last forever.

I have a purple efest 2500mAh 18650 IMR (the one that says 35A on the sleeve) that is over a year old. This does not seem to work well with it.... I hear the vtc6 is only rated as a 15A battery is that true? The kanger kbox only goes up to 75W so will I need more amps than that?

I was referring to the battery and device and not the juice it self. I want to see how long the device will last. Before it was cutting out fast after a full charge, faster than it should've been.

Charging vaping batteries to only 3.7V will give you just a fraction of their rated capacity versus charging at their 4.2V rated charging voltage.

What is a Kanger Subox mini kit?

KangerTech has made another move into the mini starter kit market with the Kanger Subox Mini Kit. We found this little device packs almost everything you’re going to need to get into vaping. The Subox also has some features not just for new vapers but also veteran vapers like a 1.5 coil option and a rebuildable deck.

How to change wattage on a mod?

Tapping the plus or minus buttons increases or decreases the wattage by 0.1 increments, holding it down changed the wattage levels by one whole watt. Holding the plus and minus key flips the screen, and That is it for controls. The mod does not have a temperature control mode which is honestly sad to see.

How much juice does a mini tank hold?

The tank holds 4.5ml of juice, and they call it the mini tank, but I have to say that at 4.5ml it is of standard size. It does fill from the bottom, and I did notice that the airflow holes are a bit tight which made it feel that I may start to unscrew the base off.

How to clean a mod?

Cleaning the mod and tank is as simple as any other device, just remove the battery and tank. Disassemble everything and grab some alcohol wipes or warm water and give everything a good wipe down. I managed to do this within ten minutes and was back up and running after letting it dry (about 30 mins in total).

What is the meat of the info on the back of a Kangertech box?

On the back, there is nothing special, the meat of the info is actually when you first open the box . KangerTech has designed this box to open up like a book, which I like – no more losing the top of the box. The latching side of the box is held by a magnet that I found holds everything relatively tight.

Is the Subox mini tank a good mod?

The overall size of the Subox and Mini Tank is almost perfect for me, it is not a large clunky two or three battery mod, so it is pretty portable. Holding the mod in hand, I could almost entirely hide it in my palm. If you are a stealthy vaper or just want something you can keep in a pocket, this is not a wrong choice.

What IC is used in KBox?

The KBox on the other hand has a 5056 charge IC and the data sheet here will tell you pretty much everything about this IC and how it charges. This IC is getting closer to what you'd see in a single-cell external charger and potentially other manufacturers have used it as such. This IC is specifically designed to charge a single Li-ion cell from USB power. It has a proper charge cut-off at 10% of the maximum charge rate after the cell hits the 4.20V threshold (4.22V tested) as well as other features such as automatic trickle charge for over-discharged (<2.9V) cells and is capable of temperature monitoring of both the cell and the IC itself. The maximum charging current tested at a little over 900mA although it doesn't hold this level steady through the bulk stage like the Pico and eVic, instead it slowly decreases all the way to charge cut-off. USB input maxed out at 1024mA. Interestingly, I noticed that the stand-by current of this mod with the screen off is lower than what my meter can show – less than 1mA. I recommend using a 1A or above USB socket when charging this device although a standard 500mA will also work fine.

Does the 5056 have a safety timer?

By the looks of the datasheet, the 5056 charge controller IC does not have a safety timer. Like the other mods tested so far, a very old or damaged cell may continue to receive current (not good) if it struggles to charge up to the cut-off threshold of 4.20V. The charge controller has a proper cut-off at 10% of the initial charge current rate, however, this is only activated once the cell also hits 4.20V. I'm yet to witness first hand a bad cell causing this behaviour - I'm occasionally hard shorting one of my old blue 25Rs in order to damage it enough to use for future testing. Will update!
