So here's the deal with regular cotton. They bleach it with hydrogen peroxide then boil it. While it is fine to use in a pinch it really sucks at wicking. Its perfectly "safe" at least as safe as organic cotton but it is quite inefficient at wicking.

I think all cottons you have mentioned are about the same in absorption and burn rate (cotton is cotton). Occurrence of dry hits depends on vaper's wicking mastery. Taste is subjective.
