ok im a little lost, can you help me out here, if I wrap 2 coils, each 6 times with 30 gauge and 32 gauge which one will have more ohms? Also when wrapping the coil, the more compressed it is the less ohms it will have? Also have 2 coils vs 1 will the 2 give me less ohms?

my problem is my prometheus reading is 3.1 and its 8 wrapped 30 guage dual coil and wont work on the evic, only on the mecahnical. I dont know why this. Automatically atomizer short.

The higher the number (and smaller the diameter) the more resistance there is. Depending on how much room there is for a finished coil and wether you want the coil to heat up faster (higher resistance) will help your decision on what size wire to use.

Sounds like one coil is shorted somewhere. Also the evic will only fire above 1.3ohms and above. 8 wraps on 30 guage (1/16 drill bit) with a microcoils should yield 1.8 ohms or 0.9 dual mode. You might want to check your connections and check with an volt meter or ohm meter. Be safe and check twice.

Two coils in parallel will be half the resistance of one coil (if the coils are identical). So two 2ohm coils will be a 1 ohm dual coil.Quoted from MorpheusPA above

2 4 ohm coils would give you a 2 ohm dual, but if you are using a mech it won't vape very good because of the low voltage being applied to each coil. Imagine vaping a 4 ohm coil with 3.7 volts. Even with two coils it will be weak.

I just switched back to 30 gauge from 28. I have been building single parallels (which is really a dual coil) in my iGo-W. I tend to build between .9 and 1.1 with 28 gauge, sometimes going down to .8, but i just found that it takes too long to heat 28 gauge wire up, and decided to build with 28 gauge.
