Some of us just vape unflavored. Maybe with a squirt of something. It's not bland, it has a slight vanilly and very slight sweetness.
r77r7r ECF Guru ECF Veteran
I get mine from Wizard Labs, but there are a few other very good ones. You're correct tho- some can be bad. Try buying samples- they're very cheap. Shouldn't have much taste, smell, or color if it's good.

No fruit, no dessert, no mint, and very little sweetness limits your choices. This would leave you with nutty flavors like hazelnut, almond, amaretto, peanut butter, etc. And coffees, maybe chocolate, herbs, ginger, teas, and bourbons. Tobacco flavors might work as well, if you find the right one.
HuckTwain Full Member
Lol .....that's why I am having a hard time......on top of that ...I don't like hazelnut and don't drink coffe. On the bright side I do like tea and I'll have to go hunting for one....but a quiet morning sounds great...will give them a try and heard good things at Alice in vapeland so I also check out the castle long..

Seems that most people justify the premium pricing with the usual "still cheaper than tobacco" argument, but when there are vendors out there like MBV priced at $0.15 per ml, vs $1.00 per ml for many "premium" juices, you have to ask yourself if the premiums are really worth it... due diligence is required.

mbv green apple isnt sweet. its got a light crisp apple taste with a good throat hit. its been my adv ever since i started a yr ago. you could also try cutting flavors with vg. to lower the sweetness.

Ok so the first e-cig I ordered was an over priced RN4081 from a company that I would NEVER suggest anyone order from. Customer service (by e-mail only) is TERRIBLE and 30 day money back guarentee turned into 60 days for me to get my refund after I returned it. They lie, and well.....you get the point they suck. BUT!!!!!!!!

I'm on the same boat as you. The ONLY one that tasted good among tobacco flavors was the Cartos I got from Green Smoke. It was called "Red Label" and had that pipe-tobacco flavor with hint of sweetness at the end. That was the flavor that actually got me to quit smoking and embrace vaping.
DarwinUser Senior Member ECF Veteran
One more comment on this topic. I'm thinking that these vendors (Green Smoke and others that sell only pre-filled cartos and not the juice) must be using one of the generic juices in the market. This leads me to believe that it could be one of the original Chinese juices like RY4 or DK Tobacco.

You will never find a juice that tastes exactly like a cig but you can get very close. Many like Vapor Stations Tampa, TN Frisco and Texas. There is one from MFSUSA pure cig, but I have never tried that one. All the VS stuff is very good and it all has tobacco absolute in it to help it taste like a real cig. they have small sizes to try good luck.
afrazier5 Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran
It's impossible to mimic the taste of burning tobacco with those thousands of ingredients. Nearly all the tobacco juices to me taste like a stale wet ashtray anyway so I stay away from them. My whole point of giving up smoking was to move away from the tastes of tobacco and I haven't turned back yet.
zotzer Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran
I like tobacco flavors myself. FSUSA PureCig and Burley did it for me at first, but I now find that I no longer like those flavors alone. Probably because taste buds are changing.
NewYork Senior Member ECF Veteran
I have had all of the "wet cigarette" and "ashtray" flavors. That is NOTHING like the pre-filled cartos that this company has. I do not want to endorse such a bad business but "thesafecig" has a flavor that taste like a CIGARETTE.
Why do I vape PG?
The reason I vape only PG is because it produces the same amount of vapor/smoke as a ciggarette and has a pretty good TH . I would like to have even a higher TH without rising the nicotine precent though.
How does Bill's Magic Vapor work?
Bill's Magic Vapor said: ↑. The juice is wicked via a silica wick to the atomizer, where it is heated, which atomizes the juice and produces a vapor that we inhale. The thinner juice can sometimes provide too much juice to the atomizer, in other words, faster than we can atomize the juice.
Can a thinner juice cause wicking?
Less vapor, thinner juice .....can cause wicking, flooding, leaking issues. The TH is higher, so maybe lower the nic level a little bit. Otherwise, you should be fine. You can fix many leak/flood issues by adding a flavor wick on the coil and trying different toppers to find the ones that work best for your juice.
Does olive oil stay the same when shaken?
asvaldr, yes it still remains the same when shaken (not stirred), the colourless layer turns into small globules surrounded by the brown liquid, it then settles back down to the colourless part being on top of the brown part (like if you mixed olive oil with water - the colourless liquid being the olive oil in this).
Can lemon juice ruin plastic tanks?
I've seen separation in juice with a high level of citrus. The citrus oil doesn't mix well. There's a good chance it will also eventually ruin your plastic tank.

This may sound like a stupid question, but has anyone tried mixing water in juice? I know that we use PG and VG for vapor, but what if someone doesn't care about vapor? Do atties fire hot enough to vape water in the juice? If water can be used, how much could you get away with % wise? For instance, what if I mixed 60 mg PG nic juice half and half with water?.
Beans Ultra Member Verified Member ECF Veteran
Hi King, people do but at very small% I'm not sure exactly how much.....I do know NEVER NEVER use tap water only distilled. I hear people can get brain eating infections using the netty pot for their sinuses, same rules apply here. Good luck
LucentShadow Super Member ECF Veteran
A reasonable amount of water is no problem. I avoid PG, and I usually have around 20% DW in my VG juices. I think that I've gone as high as 30%, and it worked O.K., but I wasn't keeping track well with that experiment.
Kurt Quantum Vapyre ECF Veteran
I use distilled water to thin my VG juices. My equation is %flavor + %water = ~22%. So if the juice is 10% flavor, I add 12% water. If its an unflavored juice, I use 20% water. Works great for attys and cartos...although dripping in an atty with unthinned VG juice is very nice indeed.
Rocketman Ultra Member ECF Veteran
That's more water than I use but I think the water feeds the dry VG and helps prevent 'dry mouth'. Since thinning PG based juice would make it too thin maybe the anhydrous PG irritates the mouth and throat. 20% water and VG is fat, wet, and happy
buffaloguy Ultra Member ECF Veteran
I gotta say Kurt and I diy along the same lines and once Ive got a recipe I like down flavoring wise adding the remainder in dw to get the VG down around the 75%-80% mark my juices work great. I never get dry mouth or anything. What I do get is some phlegm kinda built up if Im vaping alot but I just clear my throat.
Oli (Mtl) Full Member
Hey guys. How does DW play with the flavor. It's quite hard to get a "strong" flavor with 100%, so I'm wondering if DW helps or not. I too am sick of the dry mouth feel...

I'm about to switch over to freebase nic since I'm not using pod systems anymore, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some juices that won't gunk up my coils after a day. At first I wanted super light flavors but I find I'm getting vapor's tongue a lot faster, and getting sick of them quickly because I can barely taste it.
Mordacai Vaping Master ECF Veteran
Seconded, salts can be used with sub ohm. Just depends upon what kind of throat and Nicotine hit you like, I've heard that some folks use a mix of salt and freebase Nicotine just for such reasons.
charlie1465 ECF Guru ECF Veteran
Most commercial juices are absolutely loaded with sweetener. The best thing you could do is to start DIY as @Mordacai said. I've been doing it for about a year and it's working really well...you soon realise that you often don't need any sweetener and if you do put some in it only takes a tiny bit....none of my coils gunk up badly
Coyote628 Ultra Member ECF Veteran
Ive vaped sweet juices and never gunked a coil in one day. Except for that pancake and syrup flavor i tried once. It took 2 or 3 days and not only did the coil gunk up, it was coated, crusted with burnt syrup flavor. Didnt even finish that 60ml. I can barely stand pancakes anymore because of it.
ShrubOhm Senior Member
I had a bad experience with a vape shop here. They were the ones telling me all of my problems were because I tried to use nic salts with a mesh coil on my Nord. Even at my new vape shop they're saying I shouldn't sub ohm nic salts so I thought maybe there was something to it.
ShrubOhm Senior Member
And because I feel almost unqualified to pick my damn juices and devices right, I really don't know how I'd fare making my own juice.

I understand your frustration. I don’t think that was clear when you first said you wanted to switch to freebase that it was due to limited choices, but I can see that point.

Chickenwaffles - guess this is a good place to tell about dutch experiments that get slightly near to your wishes. What you do is: go to a supermarket, or reform-store; and look up what they have as cake-flavouring (essence). Look for essences that are based on either water or propyleen-glycol (don't take those based on oil!).
chickenwaffles New Member
thank you katink! are you basically saying i could take some left over e-liquid, mix it with you special cake mix, and then have my own liquid? If that is so cant i just mix the cake mix into water (if i dont want the nicotine anymore) and then put it in the cartridge ? Also, could i put non sugar drinks like sugar free cranberry juice or even sugar free coke?.
katink Ultra Member ECF Veteran
I'm just telling what people have tried, not recommending anything (though I understand the fun of experimenting, and sure do enough of it myself too!). Just... you do need to use your own best judgement at all times about where to draw your lines on what you are doing... don't 'just step into doing things'.

I have a few questions. I bought a Smok Procolor kit around 2 weeks ago and have been using the baby tank with the smok 0.15 ohm coil. Everything was going as should. I decided I would try out the other coil the kit came with, the 0.4 ohm coil. After priming and installing, I noticed that when hitting in the hit was a lot hotter.
Topwater Elvis Vaping Master ECF Veteran
Did you turn the power down or are you using the same power as you were with the .15Ω head?
Shleubs Full Member
Yes, I turned the watts down to the lowest recommended to start. Started at 40 watts, and slowly started working my way up. However, the recommended for the 0.4 ohm coil is 40-80 watts, and I can barely handle the hit on 50 watts. On my 0.15 ohm coil I could handle 70 watts. But this coil I can barely do 50 watts. It’s very strange.
Topwater Elvis Vaping Master ECF Veteran
The manufacturer recommendations are worthless, always vape to your personal taste.

I run my Baby Beast X4 coils at maximum of 30 watts which is about 25% less than the low range of the coils recommendation. I get great coil life also but I do take very long hits compared to many others.
score69 Ultra Member ECF Veteran
The 0.6 ohm version of the coils you mention (dual coil as well) vape great for me at 20-25 watts. I couldn't imagine me running them at 40+.

Well, I'm new to vaping. I'm not sure such a thing exist except for unflavored juice, someone correct me if I'm wrong (I usually am). If a juice has a flavor of any sort, it most likely will also have some odor of some sort. But with all the flavors I have tried. I haven't noticed any lingering odors or smells.
CCC Super Member ECF Veteran
Most of the pre filled cartos you get that are tobacco flavour are some version of RY4.
Retriever Moved On
Agree on the RY4. That is what I vape for now and it has virtually no smell. I plan on trying some new juices soon, but for now it's RY4. Hope that helps.
