Simply put, the higher the voltage you set, the higher the heat. This will intensify or lessen certain variables of your vape. A lower voltage setting allows more subtle flavors to come through since some delicate terpenes may not be discernible with higher heat.Jan 20, 2021

What does adjustable voltage mean on a vape?

Being able to change the voltage or wattage on your device means that you can increase/decrease the electrical current flowing through the coil. The benefits of this are improved flavour and vapour production.May 5, 2017

Does a higher voltage vape get you higher?

When a vape coil is run at a higher wattage, it's able to create more vapour, thus giving you more nicotine per puff. This also means that the throat hit from your nicotine and PG is increased as well.

What wattage should I vape at?

On the contrary, even 10 watts is sufficient to guarantee a satisfying vape, which may be ideal for new vapers. As you become more experienced, it's safe to say that vaping starts to shine between the range of 40 and 50 watts.Sep 16, 2021

What settings should my vape be on?

As a general rule, dab temperatures are set between 315℉ to 900℉. Below 315℉ is usually too low to vaporize cannabis concentrates. And above 900℉ can release carcinogens as well as a harsh, burnt vapor.Oct 14, 2019

Why do vape coils have more nicotine?

When a vape coil is run at a higher wattage, it’s able to create more vapour, thus giving you more nicotine per puff. This also means that the throat hit from your nicotine and PG is increased as well.

Can coils burn out faster?

Similarly, running your coils at the higher ends of their recommended wattage ranges can shorten their overall lifespan and you might find them burning out more quickly than when you run them at lower wattages.

Why do coils get hot?

As higher wattages cause coils to get warmer, it’s beneficial to have your airflow ring more open , as this extra air will help stop the coil from getting too hot and burning. If you like to have the airflow ring quite closed, to give you that tighter draw, then make sure to keep your wattage a little lower.

Does running a coil at a higher wattage decrease battery life?

As you might have already guessed, running a coil at a higher wattage will also decrease your vape battery life as your vape mod needs to pull extra power from the battery to supply those high watts to the coil.

How to use a variable voltage?

Additional Tips on Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage Mods: 1 Start using your device at a low setting and gradually increase it until you have found the setting that works best for you. 2 Keep VV/VW away from water or extreme temperatures. Since they use delicate circuitry it is best to avoid these to prevent damage to the device. 3 Batteries have a more limited lifespan than the devices they power. Some devices have a non-replaceable internal battery while others use replaceable rechargeable batteries Consider this when deciding on the cost effectiveness of a device. 4 The ability to read resistance on a VV/VW mod is no substitute for an ohms reader. While they ultimately do the same thing the mod puts a higher voltage current through the atomizer than an ohms reader which in the case of a short will trigger protection circuitry and put unnecessary strain on the device.

What is a micro processor?

These devices are controlled by a micro processor which is what allows for and controls the variable settings, safety features, and secondary features like displaying battery life, atomizer resistance, etc.

What is a VW mod?

A VV/VW mod has the ability to customize the output which can be helpful in a variety of ways, it allows the flexibility to quickly change and use a wide variety of atomizers with different resistance, coil types and wire sizes. The ability to adjust the output power also allows users to control the amount of heat generated by their coils which can change the flavor of or burn certain e-juices and help adjust if the user wants to take shorter or longer pulls to create the same amount of vapor. With these devices a few button clicks is all it takes to readjust and you are ready to go

What does ohm mean in atomizers?

An ohm (Ω) is a unit of resistance. Essentially, the lower the resistance of your coil, the more electricity will flow through it. Increase the amount of resistance and less electricity will flow through. So when you use a lower resistance atomiser, and more electricity flows through, you will find the following:

What is the resistance of a sub ohm coil?

The term sub-ohm, while still used, is not as relevant as it used to be. Coils below 1 ohm are common, and coils with a resistance of 0.8 ohms are often used for Mouth-to-Lung vaping. Even lower resistance coils, such as 0.15 coils, are often used for cloud vaping.

What is the difference between variable voltage and variable wattage?

The difference between variable voltage and variable wattage is a bit like the difference between an automatic and a manual car. With a variable voltage device, you manually control the amount of power (voltage) going through your device.

How does variable wattage work?

The variable wattage device will then automatically adjust the power going through the atomiser (the voltage) to produce the power output you need (the wattage).

What does wattage mean in vaping?

To put it another way, watts is essentially how much power your vape produces and voltage is how much power is put through the device. So, as you increase the wattage the voltage also increases and vice versa.

What is a vape device?

Vape devices use simple circuits that contain a battery, a switch and a heating coil. The circuit is effectively a controlled short, with the power output from the battery used to create heat.

What is VT in heating?

Temperature Control, or as referred to sometimes as Variable Temperature (VT), is a very useful mode where you set the exact temperature threshold for heating your coils steadily. TC wires are limited to their own specific setting, as their individual heating properties vary. While using this mode, make sure that you use the correct mode for the wire of your coil.

What is power mode?

Power mode is very self explanatory. You can choose the level of wattage (amount of power per second) or voltage (the force of that power). This is used to set the optimal power for your device, as written on the coil you are using, to produce the right amount of cloud and flavor.

Is stainless steel wire safe?

Like nickel and titanium, it has an impressive instantaneous ramp up time, yet it’s safe if it was exposed to a dry burn and wouldn’t cause allergic reactions. Sta inless steel is especially popular because it can be used both in power and SS temperature control modes.

What is bypass mode?

Bypass mode gives you the experience of raw power of your battery to heat your coils. Here you can build your coils at lower resistances than is normally accepted by power or temperature control mode, meaning that the power of the hit will be determined by the sheer state of you battery and the resistance of the atomizer.

Can titanium coils be dry burnt?

like nickel, it has a fast ramp-up time, but it doesn’t have nickel’s issue of allergic reactions. Titanium coils, also, shouldn’t be dry burnt, as the wire will oxidize and ruin the coil.

Why?

The reason people go for vape devices where you can change the power output is because they are seeking something more from their vaping experience.

When?

You may wish to try out different e-liquids containing different amounts of nicotine, different ratios of PG/VG, different flavours of e juice or using a different atomiser/resistance coil.

How?

By altering the flow of current through the coil it will heat differently. You will find a setting that works for you, one that produces the flavour and vape you find more satisfying than the fixed voltage from an Ego/vape pen style battery.

Watt?

An typical vape pen battery contains a 3.7 volt battery and most of the atomisers for it are around 1.5ohms.

Who?

The short answer is people who want a consistent vape experience or more ‘oomph’ in their vape.

Equipment

There are two main types of vape device that you will come across, a device with replaceable batteries and ones that have integrated batteries.

Which is best – Voltage or Wattage?

Batteries do not give out a consistent voltage, it fluctuates up and down and most people favoured wattage settings, as this setting would compensate for the fluctuations.

I've just got a vision spinner, and I don't know what voltage to run it at.

i vape a 2.8ohms head on 3.4v i find that my sweet spot for this flavor... But thats me and this e liquid... just experiment.. remember low ohms low volts higher the ohms more experimenting. and where abouts in brum you from?

If it tastes burnt bump it down a notch is what I go by .. The resistance of the coil can vary the voltage needed for a good vape. Higher ohms will usually require higher voltage to achieve the same wattage.

Rule of thumb? Voltage = square-root of (desired watts * coil ohms). Use your computer calculator.

Some people aren't fantastic at finding square roots. A much simpler formula is just to double the ohm and then you've got your max voltage. Then adjust to a setting anywhere at or below that level to find your sweet spot. A little less math... still just as satisfying.
