Choosing a Vaporizer

Conduction Vaporizers
Conduction vaporizers like the Davinci IQ2, heat the herbs with direct contact to the heating source. In the case of the IQ2 and a lot of vaporizers, the chamber is made of ceramic, however other materials are also used, like stainless steel, aluminum, even gold.
Convection Vaporizers
Convection vaporizers like the Utillian 722, use hot air to generate the vapor. This air is pre-heating before it hits the chamber as you draw. Convection vaporizers can produce better vapor at lower temperatures and a more even cook in general.
The Best Temperature Settings for Vaping
Vaporization temperatures greatly effect the quality of your vapor by releasing different amounts, and types, of compounds released at different temperatures. For example, at a lower vaping temperature, approximately 190-210 degrees Celsius, you will receive thin & wispy, yet very flavorful vapor.

Multiple controls
While you can control everything from the onboard display, Arizer went a step further and included a remote for your desktop vape. You can preheat it with specific temperatures, or with the remote’s preset temps from all the way across the room, change fan speeds, set the session timer, and even adjust the light settings.
Heat it up
Press the bottom left power button on the unit to fire up the heater. Use the up and down buttons to the right of the display to set the temperature to 390° F (199° C) for this first session. If you’re looking for thicker hits out of the gate, start out at 420° F (215° C).
Medium grind
The Extreme Q is pretty flexible when it comes to grinding your herbs, but we suggest a medium consistency for this session. Grind up some herbs and fill the cyclone bowl loosely, anywhere from a quarter to three quarters of the way up to the bottom of the black protective coating. Anymore than that, and you won’t get a consistent roast.
Hit the whip
The whip is great for long, drawn out sessions. Connect the end with the glass adapter to the bowl, and draw just hard enough to move the herbs around. Shoot for a good 10 to 15 second draw. The cyclone bowl is designed to toss your herbs around as you draw, to reduce stirring, but as with any convection vape, stirring can help.
Blow up a bag

Cleanup
After you’re done with your session, turn the heater off and clear out the bowl and whip of any leftovers. It’s easier to do this while it’s still warm, but be careful not to burn yourself. The black protective coating will be warm to the touch, but the glass below will stay plenty hot for a bit.
What coils are used in power mode?
Pretty much all coils need to use with this mode, you can use Kanthal, stainless steel (SS), and nichrome ( nickel -chrome) coils. most of readily made coils are made out of Kanthal Wire, which is why power mode tends to be oh-so-popular among users of different expertise levels.
Can you set a temperature control?
You can set personalized power or temperature control settings for your convenience. On select devices, if you have a few different power or temperature settings that you normally use, you can set these as memory settings to you can easily scroll through them to change from one setting to another.
What is temperature control?
Temperature control is probably the most important innovation in vaping since the first variable voltage/variable wattage devices. It involves setting a maximum temperature for the vape that the coil will not exceed.
How does temperature control work?
Temperature control or TC works by using a notion called the thermal coefficient. The thermal coefficient is a property of certain materials to have their electric resistance increases or decrease depending on the temperature. Therefore by reading the resistance multiple times a second, the mod is able to also precisely estimate coil temperature.

To experiment temperature control you need two things: a box mod that’s TC enabled and a coil made from Nickel, Titanium or Stainless Steel.

Most TC enables box mods have predefined profiles for Nickel (Ni), Titanium (Ti) and Stainless Steel (SS). Knowing the material your coil is built from will help you select the correct profile. Note that it is extremely important to use the appropriate setting for the best results.
