7 Common Reasons Your Vape Gets Hot When You Inhale. 1. A Reduction in the Size of the Airflow Holes. Many sub-ohming devices have very wide holes that lead to the creation of large clouds of vapor. The problem with the holes being too large is that you will also end up inhaling plain air in the process.

Don't panic! Your vape getting hot is almost certainly nothing to worry about. Remember, vapes are specifically designed to manipulate heat: the battery supplies energy to the coil and the coil converts a part of that energy into heat, the result being a stream of vapour sent through the drip tip for you to inhale.May 17, 2021

Why does my vape feel hot when I inhale?

It all comes down to the fact that part of your mod or vaping device is literally designed to get hot. Electricity going to your coil and heating it up is what turns your e-liquid into vapour.

Why is my vape hitting so hot?

Airflow. If the vapour is too hot, instead of faulting the tank or the vape, you should check the wattage and airflow combination. High wattage gets the coil to be very hot, which in turn produces hot vapour. When you open the airflow, cool air from outside mixes with the vapour to cool it.

How do you know if your lungs are messed up from vaping?

Short-term symptoms: Individuals should watch for signs of cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea. These may be signs of lung damage. If you are experiencing these symptoms, seek medical attention. Lung disease: Vaping can make asthma and other existing lung diseases worse.

Can my vape explode?

Any brand or type of vape pen with a lithium-ion battery could theoretically explode in use. If there is a defect with the battery or if the device is used incorrectly, such as using the wrong charger or getting the battery wet, it could lead to a fire and explosion.

Does vaping make you lose weight?

The short answer: vaping does not help you lose weight as a diet trick, despite that being the reason why some pick up an e-cigarette. Its sole purpose is to help people quit smoking by using a healthier alternative that follows a familiar pattern of holding something in the hand to inhale.

What happens if you vape too much in one day?

It's important to know your limits when it comes to vaping, especially if you are new to using nicotine. Your tolerance may not be as high as those that vape or smoke more regularly, so start low and slow. Consuming too much nicotine can cause negative side effects, including: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or stomach ache.

How long does vaping take to damage lungs?

Exposure for just three days was enough to incur sufficient damage to their lungs, setting the stage for long-term chronic lung damage. This damage occurred both with e-cigarettes containing nicotine, and those with just the propylene glycol carrier fluid.

What is temperature control?

Temperature control is a vaping technology whose time seems to have come and gone. While you could once expect to find at least one titanium or nickel coil available for any given tank, today it isn’t even a given that you’ll find a stainless steel coil for your tank since kanthal mesh is all the rage. Even today, though, any decent regulated box mod has a temperature control function available as long as you can find a coil made from the correct material. Temperature control vaping requires just two things: 1 A vaping device that supports temperature control 2 A coil made from nickel, titanium or stainless steel

Can a vape tank get hot?

If your tank has a metal mouthpiece that gets hot when you vape, you’ll want to swap it out for a plastic mouthpiece that doesn’t conduct heat to your lips.

Why do coils have hot spots?

A hot spot is a section of a coil that glows much more brightly than the rest of the coil due to uneven spacing between the wraps of the coils.

Why is it important to eliminate hot spots before using a coil?

It’s important to eliminate hot spots before using a coil because a coil that heats unevenly will never give you a good vaping experience. It’ll always create hot, harsh vapor that doesn’ t taste right — and since it’ll quickly burn through the wick, things will only get worse from there.

Do vape tanks have drip tips?

If you own a vape tank made more than a year or two ago, though, your tank may have a stainless steel drip tip. A while back, tanks like the Aspire Triton and the Horizon Arctic helped to make that design all the rage.

What is the form factor of a sub ohm tank?

One thing worth noting is that many of the replacement drip tips that you’ll find today use the wide 810 form factor. Many older sub-ohm tanks use the narrow 510 form factor. If your tank’s mouthpiece is around the same size as a cigarette filter, it’s a 510 mouthpiece.

If your batteries are not rated for that kind of wattage they may be getting overloaded due to the watt load. What type of batteries are you using?

Have you vaped at those wattages before? Im probably not the norm, but anything over 15 watts gives me that experience. What is the coils resistance you put in?

Topwater Elvis Vaping Master ECF Veteran

You have to move a lot of air through the tfv8 to help cool the coil & vapor. (DTL)

jcoopercam Super Member Verified Member ECF Veteran

A 1 Ohm coil at around 15 watts should be perfect. I'm currently using a .90 Ohm coil at 20 watts in my Hadaly/VT Inbox mod. Love it!

listopencil Ultra Member ECF Veteran

In my experience vaping at higher Wattages doesn't satisfy my smoking cravings. Also, any tank I have tried gets hot when I take it over 55-ish Watts. I have to have some serious airflow to even attempt a good vape over 75 Watts.

Bunnykiller ECF Guru Verified Member ECF Veteran

just because the coil sez its good for 120-180W does not mean its supposed to be used at that wattage... try 40W and see how it works..

stols001 Moved On ECF Veteran

Yes... recommended wattages on the coil is just that... I don't think I've ever vaped a sub-ohm device at more than 50 watts, and even that was too hot for me. I usually sub-ohm at about 30 watts, and work my way up there, slowly, by turning up the watts (which will help prime your coil).

What happens if a vape vaporizer leaks?

When a liquid, oil, or wax vaporizer leaks, it can create a mess, waste your valuable vape material, and in the worst instances, ruin your vape pen. Here are some ways to check if your vape is leaking and to prevent it from happening.

Can a vape tank break?

Many vapes have a glass tank or cartridge that can break when dropped. If your vape tank or cartridge is cracked, you will need to purchase a replacement. You can also avoid leaking by avoiding extreme heat, like keeping your vape in a hot car, or high altitudes, like flying in a plane or even driving on some mountains.

Oh I think that it could be your throat getting better, even after a week. I think it is safe and I think you are getting a "bigger" hit on your Ego than on the Blu...it has more power.

Lily

Hi, sorry about the harshness in your throat. Gosh, it could be a lot of different things or variables thereof. The eGo is a powerhouse for creating and producing lots of vapor. It could be that you're still acclimating to vaping. It could in fact be the juice, and the nic strength.

Jeffb

I sometimes get the burning hit if I don't have enough e-liquid on the atty, especially at higher voltages.

BEERCITYVAPRZ

I dont feel a harshness but I get super thirsty drinking 4 or 5 powerades a day, good info and welcome to VT. I think the method of inhaling vapor is the same way as a analog, i've always inhaled it that way so we do the same.

DAYVAPE

What better birthday "gift" than to learn how to properly inhale? Happy B-day by the way!

Jkimbo

There is no wrong or right way, many direct inhale or switch off and on or do a combo in same inhale. What ever works for you and what ever you prefer. As for direct inhaling, I blame Cheech & Chong for that!

kitsune

LOL, I am very glad you have figured it out--I will have to remember not everybody draws into the mouth then the lungs--good to remember when giving advise. Very glad you have brought this up !!!

Can you clean a coil?

But if you don’t want to, you can try cleaning the coil. Remove the gunk surrounding the coil, and you will be good. Of course, this will not be as successful as a new coil since there is only so much cleaning a coil can achieve. Also, it takes a while before the coil dries and you can use it again.

What happens if your wattage is too high?

High wattage/type of coil. If your wattage is too high, or you are using a complex coil tiger coil or a Clapton coil, you might have heat problems. These accessories are to be managed carefully. Though they have thermodynamics to cool them down, you can also try reducing the wattage.
