How Does It Vape?
As usual, I took the COV Tempest and vaped it next to my Lost Vape Triade DNA mod and my brand new GTRS V-Boy. The V-Boy has the same chip as the Yihi G Class so I know it’s very accurate. I took my TFV12 Smok tank with a coil that is rated up to 200 watts and I vaped it on all three mods.
First Impression Out of the Box
This is a beastly-looking mod. I like the finish on it. Feels just like a Vapor Shark mod. Not much to this thing though. All you get is a mod and an instruction booklet. Let me find a set of three batteries and fire this thing up.
From Top to Bottom
The Tempest by COV has a really nice top to it. It almost looks like a brushed gunmetal with a shiny finish to it. There are four deeply cut air slots that travel from the top of the sides of the plate to the 510 pin. They look like they are more for design than anything else but I am sure they do provide some airflow that keeps your atomizer cool.
The Look, Feel, and General Aestheics of the Mod
For a triple battery mod, the Tempest definitely has a great feel to it. The smooth texture of it makes it feel awesome in the hand. It is also one of the more compact 3 battery mods you will find in the market today. The materials they used on the mod are top quality and it does look to be a very good value at its price point.
The Board
The chipset that COV uses on the Tempest is a proprietary one. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed that this mod only does 200 Watts. For a triple battery mod, they could have definitely gotten some more wattage out of this sort of setup.
