The main difference between these atomizers is that RDTA has a tank, and the RDA does not.

RBA stands for R e- B uildable A tomizer. It’s a sort of DIY type of vape. An RBA is an advanced vape with a deck for user-installed coils and wicks, called “builds.”. The term RBA is nowadays used almost exclusively for removable decks for vape tanks, and “rebuildable atomizers” has become a more common term for the wider category.

What is RDA vs RBA?

RBA vs RDA: An RDA is a type of RBA that doesn’t come with a tank section. RDA vs RTA: The RDA requires manually wetting the wicks and coils with e-juice instead of coming from the tank section, like in an RTA. Most RTAs hold at least a couple milliliters of e-juice, and most RDAs may only hold a small portion of that.

What is the difference between a RTA and a RDTA?

RTA vs RDTA: An RTA and RDTA are both rebuildable tanks, but RTAs typically have a deck on the bottom of the atomizer and use a chim ney and bell system. On the other hand, under the top cap, RDTAs typically have an open deck above the tank where the wicks hang. Jeremy Mann.

What is RDTA in a tomizer?

An RDTA stands for R ebuildable D ripping T ank A tomizer. As the acronym implies, an RDTA blends together characteristics from RDAs and RTAs. The deck of an RDTA is designed like that of an RDA and the performance is similar, but the tank section that’s under the deck can feed juice to the build without having to constantly drip. The main characteristics of an RDTA are:

How To Wick Your RDA – Use The Right Cotton

This kind of goes without saying, but if you’re new to building your own coils you should 100% invest in decent, organic cotton – not the crap that some tank makers include in their boxes.

Using The Right Amount of Cotton

This is VERY important and it is something that took me a long time to figure out.

The Scottish Roll Wicking Technique

If you’re a beginner just finding your feet, it is definitely worth learning The Scottish Roll Wicking Technique.

Wicking 101 – Keep Your Hands Clean

Simple: if you’re building a new coil, wash your hands. You don’t want any crap – literally or figuratively – on them when you’re wicking, as it will compromise the cotton and, potentially, the flavor and overall performance of your build.

Wicking 101 – The CheeseBanana Wicking Technique

The name might sound odd, but this wicking technique – basically, a great example of the Scottish Roll Wicking technique – demoed by a dude from Edinburgh that goes by the name of CheeseBanana has helped untold numbers of vapers get their heads around wicking.

Wicking 101 – Burn Off Juice Build Up On Coils

If you’re changing out the cotton in your RDA or RDTA, make sure you burn off all that gross gunk on the coils themselves.

Wicking 101 – Clean Your Gear

To get optimum performance from your tank, you need to clean it regularly. Simple, I know, but so many people DO NOT do this and then complain when things stop working properly.

Do you need to top up an RTA tank?

No need to top up too often – because an RTA has a refillable tank, you won’t need to top it up until it’s empty. Potentially a better taste – many vapers believe that e-liquid from a tank has a better flavour than directly from a wick.

Can you fill an RDA with e-liquid?

Still a rebuildable atomiser, an RDA (or ‘dripper’) doesn’t have a tank to fill with e-liquid. Instead, vapers need to drip the e-liquid directly onto the wick and thoroughly soak the coils. Once those few drips are exhausted, you need to re-drip.

Do you need to re-drip e-liquid?

Need to re-drip regularly – to avoid a dreaded dry hit, you will need to re-drip regularly to ensure the wick and coils are covered with e-liquid. Also, though changing flavours often may be preferable for some, carrying around multiple bottles of e-juice could be a pain.
