Your cartridge can develop air bubbles when you hit it. Normally that shouldn’t be a problem unless it’s preventing you from drawing. One way to remove air bubbles is heating the cartridge with a hair dryer set at a low temperature. Any one of these things can cause a sore throat when you vape:

A pod vaping device, or pod begins gurgling because excess e-liquid is caught inside the pod's atomizer coil assembly. There's more e-liquid than the wick can hold, so you begin to hear a bubbling or gurgling sound when you inhale.

Sounds like liquid dripped down to the battery area where the cart screws in. Try cleaning?

Ego tanks are notoriously dodgy. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your setup. If you draw too fast, it will pull liquid too rapidly into the atty and begin to flood it. Usually that's the gurgling you will hear. Hit slow and steady and the excess should vape off. If you're getting leaking around the base, that is another issue.
