Can someone please tell me how to clean this contraption. This is my first expensive tank and I'd hate to ruin the coil because I don't know how to clean it. Thanks!

I simply take it apart an soak the majority of it in warm water. Now as for the head you have a couple of ways to clean it without damaging it. Best method I've found is vodka, ever clear or 99% alcohol. Now nothing like that on hand I would then rinse it under water and let it air dry. Meanwhile use the other head and swap them back and forth.

Both posters are spot on - especially about the plastic colander in the sink. I've lost several bits down the plug before figuring this out myself.

I've tried white vinegar and baking soda. Hot water seems to work well for me.
