I've never heard of such a thing happening, and I'm kind of trying to wrack my brain as to what might be causing it. I've gotten a better vape quality in some tanks after the coil heats up a bit, but I am talking less vapor for the first few puffs, or just cooler vapor, I've never noticed increased harshness from it though.

I don't think the cotton would dry out that fast. Maybe the coil cools off a bit while you're refilling the tank? Or maybe it has something to do with the liquid warming up inside a warm tank and then when you put cool liquid back in the harshness comes back. If storebought liquid didn't give you problems, that might be possible.
