What is an RDA vape?

RDA is an acronym for rebuildable dripping atomizer. New vapers quickly learn all about atomizers and how they work in an electronic cigarette. In an RDA, users build their own coils and install the wire themselves. To vape the eliquid, it is dripped onto the cotton and wire. The vapor is drawn directly up through the mouthpiece, or drip tip.

What is the difference between RDA and RTA?

Differences in RBA, RDA and RTA and How to Choose the Right One 1 * RBA vs RDA: RDAs are types of RBAs in which eliquid is dripped onto the coils. 2 * RDA vs RTA: With an RDA, the eliquid is manually dripped onto the coils and wicks. An RTA uses eliquid from a storage tank. A typical RTA holds five milliliters of eliquid compared to the three to five puffs that an RDA will supply. 3 * RDTA vs RDA: RDTAs work like RDAs with a storage tank. There is no dripping, but the performance is similar to the RDA. 4 * RTA vs RDTA: RTAs and RDTAs are rebuildable tanks. RTAs, however, characteristically have the deck under the atomizer and use a chimney and bell system. RDTAs usually have an open deck on top of the tank where the wicks are positioned. 5 Choosing the right system for you depends solely on personal preferences. Do you vape a lot? Will carrying around a drip tank bother you? Would you prefer something with a tank or storage pot? Choosing the right RBA for you is all about what you need and like in your vaping experience.

What is a rebuildable atomizer?

Different Types of Rebuildable Atomizers. RBAs are simply rebuildable atomizers. They may or may not have a tank or some other type of storage for eliquid. The liquid is dripped onto the coils manually or held in a storage tank and vaped through the user-built coils.

How do I vape eliquid?

To vape the eliquid, it is dripped onto the cotton and wire. The vapor is drawn directly up through the mouthpiece, or drip tip. It is most often after trying cig-alikes and vape pens that vapers seeking a stronger, more flavorful draw will eventually find more advanced vaping apparatus such as an RDA. RDA’s are made to use with a Mod, ...

How to make a starter kit for RDA?

Start with two strips of approximately 1/8 of the cotton pad for each coil. Don’t forget the strips must fit inside the coils. Next, peel off the front portion of each side of the strips. The cotton should then look fluffy on each side. There is some argument when it comes to the best RDA starter kit.

Is a squonk atomizer good for vaping?

As with everything else in vaping and life, it is all about your personal preferences. Squonk atomizers are thought to be a superior choice for newbies because of their ease of use and strong power. They deliver a flavorful burst of vapor that is thick as well as strong.

Why are RDAs so popular?

RDAs are known for their ability to produce massive cloud of vapor, and are a favorite in the vaping community for this reason. This is again due in part to the coil being very open to airflow. RDAs can chuck some serious clouds.

Why do RDAs have a stronger flavor?

Because the coils of an RDA are closer in proximity to the drip tip (where you inhale), RDAs produce a stronger, more intense flavor. This flavor enhancement is also because of how open the coils are versus the more closed-in coils of a traditional refillable tank. This is especially true in top airflow RDAs.

How many airflow holes are there in a Temple RDA?

The airflow on the Temple RDA consists of 21 small airflow holes on each side of the tank (that’s 42 airflow holes in total!). These airflow holes bring airflow right to the bottom of your coils. This gives the Temple RDA the flavor of a bottom airflow tank, but with the leak-resistance benefits of a top airflow RDA.

How To Wick Your RDA – Use The Right Cotton

This kind of goes without saying, but if you’re new to building your own coils you should 100% invest in decent, organic cotton – not the crap that some tank makers include in their boxes.

Using The Right Amount of Cotton

This is VERY important and it is something that took me a long time to figure out.

The Scottish Roll Wicking Technique

If you’re a beginner just finding your feet, it is definitely worth learning The Scottish Roll Wicking Technique.

Wicking 101 – Keep Your Hands Clean

Simple: if you’re building a new coil, wash your hands. You don’t want any crap – literally or figuratively – on them when you’re wicking, as it will compromise the cotton and, potentially, the flavor and overall performance of your build.

Wicking 101 – The CheeseBanana Wicking Technique

The name might sound odd, but this wicking technique – basically, a great example of the Scottish Roll Wicking technique – demoed by a dude from Edinburgh that goes by the name of CheeseBanana has helped untold numbers of vapers get their heads around wicking.

Wicking 101 – Burn Off Juice Build Up On Coils

If you’re changing out the cotton in your RDA or RDTA, make sure you burn off all that gross gunk on the coils themselves.

Wicking 101 – Clean Your Gear

To get optimum performance from your tank, you need to clean it regularly. Simple, I know, but so many people DO NOT do this and then complain when things stop working properly.

Building on the Requiem RDA

This has got to be one of the easiest decks I’ve ever built on and that’s for a number of reasons. The first is that the screws are nice and large. This makes loosening or tightening a breeze. To start building, loosen both post screws.

Performance

I’ve had a blast using the Requiem and a big factor in my enjoyment comes down to its sheer versatility. Just using the included coils you can achieve any kind of draw you want. When you want a different draw you can just switch the top cap.

Verdict

Despite its small size the Requiem delivers surprisingly big flavor. I love the interchangeable top caps, but at the same time it’s not the most convenient method of altering your airflow. Still, I like it more than I dislike the inconvenience.
