Trace amounts of vape juice build up in the tank in the form of gunk, and they can give you tastes of the old e-juice as you try to vape the new one, which can be unfavorable, especially if the two flavors do not complement each other.

Old or Scorched Coils
If you have a refillable vape tank, you may taste a consistent scorched flavor because your coils are old. All vape tanks will eventually need their coils replaced (or the entire tank replaced), as the march of time is relentless upon all things.

First I'll intro a bit.....I've been a smoker (analog I guess it's called now) for 30 years. Was pretty excited about vaping and have been giving it a try for about 7-8 weeks now. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to trying new things and buy everything right away. Lol

Fattlestar Ultra Member Verified Member

It appears to happen a lot to new vapers, although it can apparently happen to anyone. Search vaper's tongue and you'll find a lot of info about it.

You might want to consider DIY'ing your own e- juice. Sometimes mine has too much flavour so I just open the tank and add some more flavourless mix. Other times if I find I don't have enough flavour I just add a couple of more drops of concentrated flavouring.

Okay, so if you go back to cigs, you will continue having the problem most likely. You will continue having trouble tasting flavors. Around the 2-3 month mark it was flavorless to me too. That's when I started changing flavors regularly.

Sounds like a classic case of vaper's tongue to me. Make sure you are drinking PLENTY of water. Vaping can dehydrate you if you arent taking in enough water. It will pass. Now is a good time to vape those juices you bought and found that you didn't really care for. There is a good bit of information on the forums about vaper's tongue.

In order to keep from losing tastes, I use 3 or 4 different flavors Always. Not one flavor today, a different one tomorrow.. I mean like a drag off of one, a drag off another, etc.

I just started Vaping a week ago. I have been using Vapor King Red and White. Today I got a new shipment of juice (cola and 555) from vapor king and I hardly notice any differance. It all tastes kind of burnt.I'm using a 510. I vape pretty hard and fast, almost like chain smoking.

VegasVapor

Welcome to the forum seaspine. This is actually a common problem with the 510. If you're using cartridges, the atomizer tends to burn the filling, so this is probably what's causing that burnt taste. The best thing to do with the 510 is remove the filling from the cartridge and directly drip about 3 drops right on the atomizer.

Christopher

Yup from the sounds of things your atomizer is either running to hot or your burning cart filler. Each liquid should taste unique and if it doesn't it's normally always something wrong with the atomizer. The 510 is a great model for it's size and creates awesome amounts of vapor, the only down side is how hot it can get.

seaspine

I changed the attie, put on a fresh cart and slowed down a little, I now taste a little of the cola flavor.

Not that I can really think of off hand. I know there are some suppliers in which I noticed their liquids all sort of smell the same, but not taste the same. Maybe your taste buds havn't come back yet? Not sure what to tell you

kitsune

with the 510--weaker or subtle flavors do not come through very well and can taste somewhat the same. I always keep on hand some extra flavoring--flavour art is my favorite, but have a couple Loranns that I like too.
