It happened on my first cartomiser/clearomizer (not sure what it is its see thru with 2 wicks if that's relevant).

Usually that's the gurgling you will hear. Hit slow and steady and the excess should vape off. If you're getting leaking around the base, that is another issue.

Yeah sounds like you're filling your cart too much. Dab it on a paper towel and look through the hole before you screw in. If you can see through, you're good to go. If you can't, dab it until the excess liquid comes out the bottom of the cart, look through the hole, and if it's all clear, you're good to go.
