Can I use a ni80 coil for temperature control?

It's temperature coefficient of resistance is too low to be used alone for temperature control from what I've read. NI200 (nickel) has a much higher TCR and is used for temperature control. Ni80 was not designed for tc. I enjoy Ni80 with my fruit juices. Like ss coils, seems to get clearer taste.

Can I use nichrome N80 for wattage mode?

Hi, new here. I picked up some Nichrome N80 and was wondering if I can use it for wattage mode and not temp control. Nichrome 80 (nickel chromium) has been used for voltage and wattage control for many years, that's what it's for. It's temperature coefficient of resistance is too low to be used alone for temperature control from what I've read.

What is the difference between Nichrome 80 and ni200?

Nichrome 80 (nickel chromium) has been used for voltage and wattage control for many years, that's what it's for. It's temperature coefficient of resistance is too low to be used alone for temperature control from what I've read. NI200 (nickel) has a much higher TCR and is used for temperature control. Can I use nichrome 80/60 wire for temp control?

Nichrome 80/60 are not suitable wires for temp control. Steam Engine does provide the TFR values for them on their site, but I believe their main use is for people who want to build hybrid builds for temp control with the DNA 200, such as mixing Kanthal & Ni200 or Titanium & Nichrome 80.

What temperature should I put my vape at?

Many people agree that 420 degrees Fahrenheit or 216 degrees Celsius is the sweet spot. You get as much flavor as possible without feeling the warmth of the vapor. If you want to add even more flavor, try a temperature between 425 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit or 218 and 232 degrees Celsius.

What setting should I set my vape to?

Low-temperature vaping is the top recommendation for vape pens. It has a better flavor and it's safer, having less impact on your lungs. Low-temp vaping is usually set at 374℉. This setting produces a thinner vapor than higher temperatures.

Can you TC Ni80?

Kanthal and Ni80 Don't Work On TC Mode This makes it very hard for your TC vape chip, because it can't 'see' the coil temperature just by looking at your coil's resistance. The best coils for TC vaping are made from alloys with high TCRs (like Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel). …

Can Nichrome be used for temperature control?

Nichrome has a well known resistance to temperature curve so if your circuit applies a heating current and measures the voltage across the wire you can control the temperature with FB.

What is best wattage for vaping?

What most people overlook, though, is the fact that even 10 watts is sufficient to guarantee a satisfying vape, and some users are right at home with this wattage. By and large, though, we could say vaping starts to get more exciting between the range of 40 and 50 watts.

23 - 28 wattFor example, a 0.4-ohm mod may recommend a 23 - 28 watt setting, and a 0.8-ohm mod may recommend you use up to 35 watts. Some recommendations can go much higher (e.g., 200 watts). Sub-ohm devices work best when using a high VG vape liquid (e.g., a VG/PG ratio of 70/30).

What wattage should I vape at 0.2 ohm?

0.3 ohms - 40 watts to 90 watts. 0.2 ohm coils - 40 watts to 100 watts.

What wattage should I vape at 0.3 ohm?

The sweet spot for getting a balance of vapour and flavour is around 0.3ohms. Depending on your coil choice you'll want to up the wattage from anywhere between 50 and 100 watts.

Is nichrome safe to vape?

NiChrome is a good vape wire, but there are a few caveats to using it. Since it's an alloy of nickel and chromium, it has a really fast ramp-up time – it can heat up really fast, which means that complex coil builds can really benefit from it.

How hot can nichrome get?

The Type A Nichrome Wire has a high temperature range up to 1150°C or 2100°F. Richards NWC or Type C Nichrome Heater Wire has a compositon of 60% Nickel, 16% Chromium, and the balance of 24% Iron. Type C wire has a maximum temperature range up to 1000°C or 1850°F.

What temp does nichrome melt?

Properties. Nichrome is consistently silvery-grey in colour, is corrosion-resistant, has a high melting point of about 1,400 °C (2,550 °F), and has an electrical resistivity of around 112 microOhm-cm, which is around 66 times higher resistivity than copper of 1.678 microOhm-cm.

What is NI200 used for?

What is NiChrome 60?

NiChrome (NiChr) 60 and 80 are mainly used in standard vaping principly (voltage or wattage modes), though Kanger tried playing with NiChr TC before the Aug 8 deeming FDA regs like Ijoy tried doing with Kanthal a couple years ago, both wire types the TCR coefficients are just to hard to do accurately enough, though the Kanger NIChr TC works on my KBox 200watt, about the only real benefit it gives me is lower chance of scorching cotton than anything else. NiChr and Kanthal as far as I know are almost identical (amounts of nickel and chromium) in their chemestry, Kanthal has other elements in it like iron, aluminum and ceramics over and above what NiChrome has. This makes NiChrome softer, has a lower melting point under what Kanthal can withstand, to me NiChr has a cleaner taste over Kanthal, it fires up quicker due to its less resistance, but it does, especially thicker gauges of it, retain heat longer, on a mech this is great as it takes less voltage ramp up to reheat over and over, a lot of mech competitive cloud blowers moved to it for its lower resistance, quick ramp and maintaining heat longer.

I am looking for something that has a higher resistance than ni200. I also want to be able to have contact coils and be able to glow them to clean them off without the aftermath consisting of toxic byproducts.

I have looked into the NiFe52 wire, but it is hard to find in thicker sizes.
