Vapes usually auto-fire on their own due to a faulty battery. But other common reasons for auto-firing are that you have a fried chip or switch or a leaking tank. Auto-firing usually occurs inside a person’s pocket, purse, or drawer. The vape firing on its own can be dangerous and potentially cause an explosion.

A fried chip or switch is one of the most common causes of auto firing. If you're able to dismantle your device, look for any signs of damage on the switch and chip. You may not always be able to see the issue visually, so it may be a good idea to have them replaced regardless.Jun 6, 2018

I have a Smok Vape Pen Plus that fires when sitting on the table! It has leaked juice around the firing button from the day I got it. I contacted he seller, they said I needed to tighten up the coil. Did that even using a vice grips. It still poured juice around the button. Needless to say, I am sure this has caused the misfiring.

Depending on where you live, some vape shops will recycle batteries (and I hope to holy goodness that they are doing so, not rewrapping them with some fancy house wrappers...) Radio shack will, some cellular places will take them, and so will places like Home Depot and Lowes, etc.

Why is my vape tank hot?

The first reason is that the tank has a metal mouthpiece that directly touches the tank’s chimney or coil. Since metal conducts heat, the heat from the coil will travel to your lips if that’s the case. Modern vape tanks get around that problem in two ways.

What is the best way to keep your vape tank cool?

Many modern vape tanks use Delrin or Ultem mouthpieces. Both of those materials are forms of plastic that conduct heat poorly and can help to keep your lips cool. If your vape tank is getting hot, then, one very simple solution is to replace the mouthpiece; the heat from the coil will stop reaching your lips.

Why do you switch to a pod system?

Why might you consider switching from a sub-ohm vaping setup to a pod system? As we’ve just mentioned, if it bothers you that your vape tank gets hot during use, you might appreciate the fact that pod systems produce very cool, smooth vapor in comparison. In addition, most pod systems aren’t designed for direct-to-lung inhaling as sub-ohm tanks are. So, in addition to the fact that a pod system operates at a cooler temperature, the fact that you inhale the vapor from the mouth to the lungs further cools the vapor since you’re taking in additional air along with the vapor.

What is the best insulator for vaping?

The most common insulator for vaping is polyether ether ketone (PEEK). If you can find one, a PEEK spacer that fits between your tank and your vaping device can keep the heat from radiating to the device and battery.
