How to fix a vape that spits back?

Keep your tank upright – Some tanks aren’t built to handle being on their side for long periods of time. E-liquid can start seeping out through the airflow holes if you leave it that way overnight. Try to keep your vape positioned vertically if you’re not using it for extended periods of time.

How do air holes affect vapour?

Apr 02, 2021 · When you suck on your drip tip, there is a vacuum created in the atomizer drawing the air through the airhole, cooling the air and causing condensation of the steam – hence we have “vapour”. The wider the diameter of the airhole, the easier air can pass through, and subsequently more vapour can be produced.

How to fix a leaking vape tank?

Give your vape tank a flick. You may have seen experienced vapers giving their vape tanks a quick flick when they break out their vaping kit. A sharp downward flick can help clear the coil of any excess liquid, making for a much nicer vaping experience.

Why does my vape tank leak?

Leaking happens when e-juice escapes from your tank, usually through the airflow system. Depending on the reason behind it, leaking can range from a few drops of e-liquid, to having your tank emptying all of its contents all over your vape mod. It’s a common problem with even the most popular sub ohm tanks.

Why does my tank leak out of the airflow holes?

Put a lid on it – If you leave a tank without the top cap, it will leak out of the airflow holes. That’s due to the pressurized nature of tanks. Make sure that your tank is empty if you plan on leaving your top cap off for extended periods of time—anything longer than it takes to fill it.

Why do multi strand coils pop?

Multi-strand coils often pop and spit due to their design. Twisted coils in particular have a bad reputation for this, but Clapton coils may have the same issue. Their design makes it easier for e-liquid to pool on the coil, and so sometimes it’s hard to entirely avoid popping on these coil types.

What happens if you inhale too much liquid?

If you inhale too forcefully, you risk bringing too much e-liquid into the coil, which may lead to leakage. Watch out when filling – Never overfill your tank. Always leave a small air pocket at the top when filling. This empty space will help prevent any liquid from leaking out.

How to remove e juice from a tank?

First make sure the threads are in sync and closed tightly, but not too tight. Find that sweet spot. If the threads are crossed, screw it back together carefully. Remove e-juice from chimney – All tanks have a central airflow tube that runs from the body of the tank up to the drip tip, known as the chimney.

What does it mean when a juice tank is not airtight?

Check for cracks – Check your tank for cracks or other damage. A thin crack in the glass or a piece of bent metal can mean the tank is no longer airtight, allowing the juice to leak out and into the air hole valve.

How to prevent juice from leaking?

Sometimes if you’re in a hurry, you may cross-thread the top cap or forget to screw it together tight enough. This can cause juice to leak out of the openings.

Which is better, big or small airhole?

Big Vs Small Air Holes. Smaller airholes provide better throat hit, as well as more pronounced flavours. Airholes that are too wide also tend to mute flavours, so if massive clouds are not your primary reason for vaping, then smaller airholes will actually be better in terms of flavour!

What happens when you suck on a drip tip?

When you suck on your drip tip, there is a vacuum created in the atomizer drawing the air through the airhole, cooling the air and causing condensation of the steam – hence we have “vapour”. The wider the diameter of the airhole, the easier air can pass through, and subsequently more vapour can be produced.

How is airflow determined?

Airflow is determined primarily by the size of the airhole on your atomizer, as well as the design of the atomizer. The most common type of airflow comes from a hole on the side of your atomizer. This is the easiest to customise, and most designs come with adjustable airflow control (aka AFC), which allows you to choose the size of your airhole.

Why is it important to make sure that the coil is not touching the top cap of the atomizer?

However it is very important to make sure that the coil is NOT touching any part of the topcap or the atomizer’s base, since this will cause a short, resulting in ruining your battery.

Do atomizers have adjustable airflow?

Most atomizers these days do have adjustable airflow control. Changing airhole size takes seconds, and you have the ability to freely switch between a small and larger diameter airhole. Older atomizer designs usually have fixed airholes, which you have to drill out yourself if you wish to have a larger airhole.

Does more airflow make clouds?

Does more airflow make bigger clouds. Yes, to a certian extent. Increasing the airflow allows more air to cool the coils, making vapour more comfortable to inhale and increasing the volume. If you are looking to vape bigger clouds the simplist way is to uae a sub-ohm tank that are designed to increase airflow and produce more vapor, ...

Does the size of an atomizer affect vapour?

The size of the atomizer actually has an effect on vapour and flavor! Smaller atomizers (more specifically, the chamber where e-liquid is vaporized) makes flavours more pronounced, as well as a hotter vape.

Where does vapor go when you vape?

Any vapor that hasn't been inhaled will naturally condense and rest in your vape tank's centre post or mouthpiece. There's a risk it might then run down and back into the coil, potentially leading some nasty spitback when you go for your next inhale.

What does a downward flick do to a vape?

A sharp downward flick can help clear the coil of any excess liquid, making for a much nicer vaping experience. This is particularly good advice if you've just filled the tank - just be warned that it could get messy so be sure to do it over a sink or some tissue!

Can you spitback at a vape tank?

You go to take a nice long draw from your favourite e-juice only for your vape tank to spitback at you. It isn't pleasant and it can happen often, particularly if you're a keen modder trying out different components to get the right 'balance' and find the perfect vaping experience.

Why does my atomizer make a gurgling sound?

Reason 1: Flooding in the tank. If your atomizer leaks out from the bottom or exhibits a gurgling sound, the most likely cause is flooding. It typically occurs when there is too much e-liquid, or a tank refill occurred too fast for the cotton to absorb absorbed by the cotton.

What does it mean when an atomizer leaks?

Leakage means that e-juice will flow out even without any cracks of the model. It may leak out from the glass tube edge, air inlet, drip tip or bottom positive screws etc.

What happens if a coil head is worn?

If the coil head has become worn, is faulty or is at the end of its lifespan, leakage problems will happen too. Try and replace a new heater core as this is a common issue.

What is the seal on a clearomizer?

The rubber ring of the coil head forms a seal. This prevents any liquid going up the center of the clearomizer and into your mouth. However, they can be damaged easily in the vaping process. ◆ It will leak when the 0-ring is broken.

Can you open the top filling hole without closing the bottom air inflow hole?

A top filling model will be subject to leakage if you open the top filling hole without closing the bottom air inflow hole. The internal pressure of the tank is increased while opening the top filling hole. At that moment, the whole atomizer is just like an inflator.

Why does my vape spit?

A vape spitting is usually caused by atomizer flooding. Spitting often happens in conjunction with the gurgling sounds that indicate flooding. Temporarily increase the wattage setting to vaporize any excess juice to handle spitback. Make sure your coils heat evenly.

What is spitting vape?

What is spitback or a vape spitting? A spitting vape is when excess e-liquid in the coil bursts from the coil, up through the mouthpiece, and into the vaper’s mouth. Spitback is instantly noticeable as the liquid in the mouth. The flavor and nicotine will leave a strong sensation. If vaping at high wattages, the liquid may also be hot ...

Why is my vape juice leaking?

A defective or worn out O-ring may allow excess vape juice to seep into the atomizer. Check and replace the O-rings if you are getting persistent flooding even with new coils. Gravity can cause flooding and spitback. If a vape is left on it’s side or upside down, vape juice can leak into the chimney and mouthpiece.

Why does my atomizer spit?

There are a number of reasons that an atomizer coil might flood. A failing or defective coil can also be the cause of flooding and spitback. If the coil is not fully heating or insufficiently heating then not enough vape juice will be vaporized. That will lead to flooding and vape spitting.

Why do vape coils gurgle?

This is because overnight the liquid can seep into the coil. Usually, after a couple of vapes the flooding clears up and you don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the day.

Why is my atomizer not getting enough power?

Another problem could be that the atomizer is not getting sufficient power from the battery to fully heat because the contacts are compromised.

What happens when you fire an atomizer?

When you fire the atomizer, the vapor coming up through the flooded juice makes the liquid spit and jump up the chimney and through the mouthpiece. Spitback liquid can be hot and uncomfortable but usually it is just annoying to taste the raw liquid in your mouth. I know, I said that twice now. But it is true!

Explanation I've heard for spitting is basically juice building up on top of the coil. One solution is to raise the watts so it burns the juice off faster but you tried that. People suggest a thicker wick to slow the juice flow, or making a contact coil rather than a spaced coil. That wouldn't work for you because you're using pre-made coil heads.

Another thought. Keep the power on for a moment after you stop inhaling. That should dry the wick out. It works the other way too. If you have a situation where the wick gets too dry keep inhaling for a moment after you stop the power.

There is lot of juice running to the coil and then it floods and can't vaporise it and that's why u get spitback of juice...

Superuser187 Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Hey SuperUser. Before I put my coil in I checked all my seal, they still look pretty brand new. Haven't even used a week on this new tank. I am also using 80VG E-Juice. I always make sure my airflow has some air usually 1/4/ or 1/2 open. The atomizer I will check, to see if everything is all connected properly.

I forgot to tell youafter u fill the tank with juice always close the topfill cap and not let the tank without the cap on for long time...just saying In case u did that...

Superuser187 Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Of now vapes ok then I guess the problem was oversaturation at first and as u vape it gets smoother...happens sometimes..

Superuser187 Ultra Member ECF Veteran

Back again Superuser. I still get juice in my mouth so I’m not happy with that cuz I can’t vape for more than 10 mins cuz I get a head rush. However yes everything else is working normally just some juice in the mouth or tongue.
