Ive built a ton of mosfet boxes and its just a safer way to fire the mod but its technically still a mech. I do however fuse the batteries in them.
How many clicks to turn off a MOSFET?
Forget all the hype that the makers of these Mosfets want you to believe. Three clicks to turn off the mod? That’s great but you never know when that would fail. So just take your batteries out every time you’re done using your mod, just like you would with a mech.
Do most modders just put the bomberpro MOSFET in their mods?
I am pretty sure most modders would just put the Bomberpro mosfet into their mods, and are not even aware of these failure rates. You could be holding a mods that has a prolematic Mosfet board, and you will never know until things get pretty ugly.

I built an 3.7v 18650 mod a while back. It is not much bigger than the battery itself and I don't have much room to work with. I can only fit the super small tactile switches in it.

Thanks, I've been looking for something similar. One thing tho, the MOSFET listed there wouldn't work for a 3.7v, right? It's a 4.5v gate threshold. MOSFET N-CH 40V 42A I-PAK - IRLU3114ZPBF <---here's that MOSFET. Which one shows the gate threshold?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the 5v regulators from Madvapes will act as a mosfet when using the control pin at 3.7v.

When you're looking at voltage regulators, you'll see 'em with 3 and 4 pins. The ones with 4 pins, one is a control pin. It's like an on/off switch. At least, that's my understanding.

Why use a MOSFET?
The idea behind using a MOSFET is that the the actual physical switch you press doesn't need to take the full current - so the switches themselves can be more delicately built (i.e. cheaper) and don't suffer from the arcing and crud buildup that require regular maintenance on full mechanical mods. The physical switch only has to pass sufficient current to trigger the transistor. This does not mean that MOFSET mods can handle a higher current than mechanicals, as frequently the reverse is true.

Single 21700 battery with no regulation (you get what the battery is putting out). It is electronically switched and has a few basic protections.

Basic wiring Concepts
All of the individual battery sleds are wired in parallel. This means that all batteries will face the same direction. You must use protection. Remove the nano from your project, and connect it to your PC. Verify the code above, and install any libraries with you are missing.
Testing your project
Check for any shorts with your multimeter. Check continuity of all connections to ensure you have no broken wires.

The delay () function could prevent your MOSFETS from shutting off while the power level is higher than 0. That is why this code uses a snapshot of the currentmillis to keep track of timed features. This way the loop can continue to scan, and shut off the MOSFETS at a reasonable time.
