Simply remove one or the other and insert the tip of your dropper or needle bottle into the hole and fill. Changing coils, however, is a real pain if there is juice in the tank. The juice needs to be drained first, and in order to do that, you need to open both of the caps and pour the juice out through the top hole.

Aspire Plato Starter Kit Contents

There is a LOT of stuff in this box, but it is all pretty necessary I think. Here's what you get:

My Aspire Starter Kit Review

The Aspire Plato I received is the "Grey" finish. It's a matte, dark grey, brushed finish that looks really nice, has great texture for gripping, and overall feels pretty good in my fingers. The screen is pretty small, and comes with a screen protector over it to keep it safe during shipping.

Firmware Update

Okay, so there is a firmware update available that fixes some of the problems, but reduces the capabilities, kind of.

Conclusion

The Aspire Plato might not be bad as a starter kit for new vapers, if it weren't for all the complexities. The tank assembly is overly complex to be included in a starter kit, and the mod is too proprietary to use any other tank.

Very light, a quality or a defect?

Hosted in a black cardboard beautiful box with pictures of the device and the Aspire brand’s logos, Plato is definitely well presented. Inside, one discovers Plato, a pretty bicolor box, consisting mostly of steel with a few plastic parts.

Warning: Breakage!

The absence of a spare Pyrex tube is regrettable; hopefully Aspires will market the spare parts in a near future. For now, in case of breakage, the box turns unusable.

Comfortable tank volume and rotating screen

Note that the overall tank capacity varies with the type of coil. With a 1.8 Ω coil, you may reach the beautiful volume of 5.6 ml. It is reduced to 4.6 ml when mounting the 0.4 Ω coil.

A perfectible usability

The usability of the Plato chipset is quite confusing. A Five-press on the Fire button does not turn off the box, it locks it. For example, to turn it off, it will still require an additional three-second press. To enter stealth mode, push the switch on three times. Another annoyance, the + and – buttons are reversed (the + on the left).

A vape accessible to everyone

Mounting the new Plato Subohm coil of 0.4 Ω obviously changes the universe. One has to tune the box to 40 W. Suddenly, it fits to direct inhalation and produces big curls. Remember though to reduce the nicotine strength, otherwise your throat and your head might notice it very fast.

The chipset already upgraded

Joyetech’s example with an upgradable firmware in the EVIC VTC Mini seems to have emulated other brands. So does the Plato firmware. Currently, the new downloadable firmware, V04, offers no dramatic changes.

Conclusions

Rating 3.6/5. After taming, the Aspire Plato proves to be an interesting box. Compact, lightweight, attractive and versatile, it offers a great quality of vape for an affordable price. Two flaws anyway.

I purchased an Aspire Plato kit a little over a year ago. I never had any issues with it except some occasional leaking at the bottom where the airflow vent is. I haven't used it in about 4 months, but decided to bring it out to start vaping again. A week ago it had a slight charge and was able to flash a low battery message on the screen.

Not really. Sounds like you've tried the obvious solutions. Although, since you've had leaking, I might look at cleaning the battery terminals, and whatever you can get to inside the mod. There may be some ejuice clogging up some areas in your mod. If you clean it then leave it open for a day or so to dry out.

The plato uses a removable 18650 battery, have you checked the voltage?

Eskie ECF Guru Verified Member ECF Veteran

Yeah, don't assume anything until you at least remove the current 18650, wipe the contacts down, and try another battery. If is this your primary vape, then over a year you might well have used that enough to the point it will no longer hold a charge. These batteries are good for anywhere around 300-500 cycles.
