Definitely just looks like lighting to me. There are a couple juices I've tried with food coloring in them, it doesn't color the vapor, but does look cool in a tank .

this looks like lighting or editing... but I have noticed if I blow a cloud of something like Black Label Grapevine, or even Gemini Octo, at my computer screen, I can see a little purple in the cloud before it dissipates. It's faint, but it's noticeable every time.
