Jul 28, 2016 · The disassembly is easy, no matter you are having E-Cig polar tank coils or E Cig Icetank Coil. The glass tank section has screws either into the top /bottom or both, and these screws can be used to unscrew. Some of the tanks use O-rings on one side so the tank is held in its place only by friction, and can easily be pulled apart without unscrewing.

Disassemble and reassemble your vape box mods

Even though vape mods are designed with customizability in mind, cleaning them can still be a chore. From the many already built-in parts to the extra technology you add, the little nooks and crannies of your box mod that you need to take care of add up quickly.

Box mod firing button

One of the most difficult parts of a mod to take apart is the firing button. This button is usually made up of a few parts. There is the button itself, which needs to be taken off and wiped down. Below that, you'll have a spring, which can also be taken off and scrubbed.

The vape battery

Another important part to know how to properly remove and reattach to your vape device is the vape battery. Of course, the vape battery is an absolutely critical component of your device. This is what gives your device the power to be able to heat up e-liquid to turn into vapor.

The vape tank and atomizer

The third and definitely not final part that you should definitely know how to disassemble and reassemble is the vape tank and vape atomizer complex. You may already know how to do this if you change your coils often, but it can never hurt to have a reminder.

Disassembling Bottom-Coil Clearomizers

In bottom coil, you need to unscrew the bottom to get access to the E-cig coils. After unscrewing, the base will come out along with atomizer head and stem will be still inside the clearomizer. This indicates that you can access the coil without emptying the tank too by inverting the clearomizer before unscrewing.

Disassembling Top-Coil Clearomizers

In top-coil clearomizers, the stem will also come out while disassembling the clearomizers. This indicates that to get access to the coil; the tank needs to be emptied first. For only refilling, these clearomizers have drip tip that screws into place, and you can get access by just removing the drip tip.

Disassembling Sub Ohm Tanks

In sub-ohm tanks, the working is similar to bottom coil clearomizers; the base needs to be unscrewed without emptying the tank. For the refill, the sub-ohm tanks are mostly filled from the bottom.

1. Strip Your Vape Down

The first step in cleaning any tank is to fully disassemble it. This includes removing any O-rings that may collect vape juice behind them. Be very careful when removing your O-rings to be sure they do not break or get punctured. Also, keep in mind that some tanks have two rings while others have three.

2. Soak Your Vape

The next step is to let the components of your vape tank soak thoroughly to break down any buildup that has occurred. You can soak your pieces in hot water, vinegar, ethanol or raw propylene glycol. Be sure to use pure vinegar or ethanol, not isopropyl alcohol.

3. Clean Your Vape

Use a small brush to gently clean connectors and the inside of your vape tank. It should not take much pressure or scrubbing to get your tank completely clean. A final rinse should wash away any debris.

4. Dry and Reassemble Your Vape

Wipe down each part and then lay it on a clean cloth to dry. You want everything to be 100 percent dry before reassembly. Some people choose to use a hair dryer to gently blow-dry the components and speed up the process. However, in doing so, O-rings may become brittle from the drying heat.
