IMO, 2.5 ohms is a bit high resistance for most mods. I normally stay with 2.0 or lower. What mod are you using? Do you have VV/VW capabilities? It all depends on the voltage passing through as to what resistance you want. Then you can match up to your personal preference.

Yes, if you have a variable wattage device, anything from 1.8-2.5Ω will work, as you'll be able to adjust the voltage of your battery as needed. If you have a set-voltage eGo-style battery (which may be either regulated 3.3v or unregulated 3.7v); 1.8Ω would be better on the regulated and 2.2Ω would work better on the unregulated battery.
