It looks as if that mod does go up to 30 watts, but it depends on the resistance of your coil on whether it can go that high. Jun 13, 2015 · Rule of thumb I'd heard was to start with the volts at about 2 + resistance of the coil. That would be about 3.8V. Then, Watts = Volts squared / Resistance. So, 3.8 * 3.8 / 1.8 = just a shade over 8W. I've also read that lots of folks run those same coils around 12 watts or so - I can't do it. It seems to burn, baby, burn on me.

You can set it to 8 volts - with a coil of 2.2 ohms or more. Every regulated mod has a voltage, wattage and amperage limitation. With some you can dial it up but it simply won't produce what it's set at. Eleaf limits the settings to what it can actually produce with a particular resistance. They are up front about it. A regulated mod that would actually try to meet demands that it can't safely produce would be criminal.

As Tearose said, where you set or volts/watts is entirely by your personal tastes. She likes to vape her Nautilus at 6-8 watts (3.3-3.8 volts), I prefer mine a little warmer at 9.5-11 watts (4.1-4.5 volts). Start out low and adjust up until you find your own sweet spot, you'll know it when you find it.

Juice will often cause you to vape at different wattages! some juices like vaping higher, others low. Thats what I think is so great about box mod's or "VV/VW" mods is that it allows for so much more customization! It allows user to find what works for them and to be able to adjust accordingly.

Saying what wattage I like with a particular topper means nothing without also saying what flavor I''m using. Even a great tobacco flavor would be tasteless at the wattage I use with a nice fruit flavor. This is because different flavors have different flash points.
