To change between watts and volts press the power button 3 times! It looks as if that mod does go up to 30 watts, but it depends on the resistance of your coil on whether it can go that high. I-stick comes in 3 flavors; 20W, 30W and 50W, I suspect this is a 20, but I could be wrong.

How much power does istick use?

Jun 13, 2015 · Rule of thumb I'd heard was to start with the volts at about 2 + resistance of the coil. That would be about 3.8V. Then, Watts = Volts squared / Resistance. So, 3.8 * 3.8 / 1.8 = just a shade over 8W. I've also read that lots of folks run those same coils around 12 watts or so - I can't do it. It seems to burn, baby, burn on me.

How many volts can an Eleaf mod use?

You can set it to 8 volts - with a coil of 2.2 ohms or more. Every regulated mod has a voltage, wattage and amperage limitation. With some you can dial it up but it simply won't produce what it's set at. Eleaf limits the settings to what it can actually produce with a particular resistance. They are up front about it. A regulated mod that would actually try to meet demands that it can't safely produce would be criminal.

Can DNA 20 and 30s regulate voltage?

Up front means they won't let you make the setting. DNA 20 and 30's won't regulate below 4v but you can dial it down there and it will display lower voltages - just not actually produce them - and blink to let you know they're just kidding. All regulated devices have limits. There are any number of mods that don't actually produce what they show throughout their advertised ranges as many of Busardo's scope traces has demonstrated. The inability to produce the entire advertised range of voltage and or wattage with the full range of advertised resistances is by no means something only done by the Istick.#N#Learning is something you end up doing whether she cares to or not. Volts and watts are tied to each other by the resistance of the atomizer coil, so changing one will necessarily change the other.

As Tearose said, where you set or volts/watts is entirely by your personal tastes. She likes to vape her Nautilus at 6-8 watts (3.3-3.8 volts), I prefer mine a little warmer at 9.5-11 watts (4.1-4.5 volts). Start out low and adjust up until you find your own sweet spot, you'll know it when you find it.

Juice will often cause you to vape at different wattages! some juices like vaping higher, others low. Thats what I think is so great about box mod's or "VV/VW" mods is that it allows for so much more customization! It allows user to find what works for them and to be able to adjust accordingly.

Saying what wattage I like with a particular topper means nothing without also saying what flavor I''m using. Even a great tobacco flavor would be tasteless at the wattage I use with a nice fruit flavor. This is because different flavors have different flash points.

What does wattage mean in vaping?

To put it another way, watts is essentially how much power your vape produces and voltage is how much power is put through the device. So, as you increase the wattage the voltage also increases and vice versa.

How does variable wattage work?

The variable wattage device will then automatically adjust the power going through the atomiser (the voltage) to produce the power output you need (the wattage).

How to get the perfect vape experience?

After all, with most entry-level vape kits, all you need to do is: Check what wattage you can use with the coil in your device. Adjust your wattage and airflow until you get the vapour, flavour and throat hit you need. Some people want to know more to get the perfect vaping experience.

Why do vapes burn out faster?

You will need to increase the voltage to increase the wattage and get a better vape. Because lower resistance coils use more wattage, they tend to generate more heat. This means they often burn out quicker than a higher resistance coil would.

What is the resistance of a sub ohm coil?

The term sub-ohm, while still used, is not as relevant as it used to be. Coils below 1 ohm are common, and coils with a resistance of 0.8 ohms are often used for Mouth-to-Lung vaping. Even lower resistance coils, such as 0.15 coils, are often used for cloud vaping.

What affects vapour and throat hit?

The resistance of your coil is not the only thing that affects vapour, flavour and throat hit. It also depends on the amount of power flowing through your coil. There are two common types of vape batteries which allow different amounts of power to flow through your coil. These are variable voltage and variable wattage.

What is the difference between variable voltage and variable wattage?

The difference between variable voltage and variable wattage is a bit like the difference between an automatic and a manual car. With a variable voltage device, you manually control the amount of power (voltage) going through your device.

How long does it take to charge an iStick?

It will take roughly 3.5 hours to fully charge the iStick using a 1A wall adaptor. When charging the battery indicator will flash – when full charged this will stop. When the battery level goes below 10% the battery indicator will flash again. (Note that the OED screen will shut off when charging.)

How to lock coil resistance?

To lock the resistance of the coil, press the fire button and the up button at the same time. If you remove the tank and will replace it you will get a new resistance reading which takes into account the temperature of your coil – simply place the fire button once to get the locked resistance back again.

What does temperature mean in a coil?

Temperature (F or C): The temperature which the coil will be heated to.#N#Resistance (Ω): The resistance of the coil needed, displayed in ohms.#N#Voltage (V): The voltage required to produce the wattage (see voltage, watts and ohms for an explanation).#N#Coil (Ni): The coil being used in the tank.

What does resistance mean in ohms?

Resistance (Ω): The resistance of the coil needed, displayed in ohms.#N#Voltage (V): The voltage required to produce the wattage (see voltage, watts and ohms for an explanation).#N#Wattage (W: The wattage the device is set to.

What is the o-ring on an Aspire TC coil?

The Aspire TC coils are clearly marked with a red o-ring. The device will not function properly in TC mode with a kanthal coil, and functions periodically in VW mode with a TC coil. If it does not function because the wrong coil is being used you will get the message:

What happens when you lock a TC coil?

By locking the coil you lock the baseline resistance. If you attach a TC coil which is warm from recent use, the resistance will be higher than usual. If it is cold, the resistance will be lower than usual. So TC coil resistance should always be measured at room temperature before locking the coil.

Why does my coil flip out of control mode?

Note that if you are using a coil which is more than one ohm, the device will automatically flip out of temperature control mode because the temperature control range is limited to a maximum resistance of 1 ohm. In addition, if the temperature gets too high, temperature protection will kick in and cut off the device.
